My biggest gripe with this game....

The map is just too small, I feel like I’m really having to pack everything in to tight on my island.

I get ideas for new areas all the time, but the size of the map really gets in the way. I just don’t want to get rid of certain areas I already have and like to build new ones.

I kind of felt that way until I could terraform, now things are a lot easier. I mean I think I could always work with/want more space... but also having limited space makes me really think about what to do with it, too, I guess!

I know the feeling. I feel like when I make one thing, it takes up too much space. I'm not sure where to put any of the houses without taking up too much space, and I don't want to cramp up the island, because I'd like to get around and be able to fish and shoot balloons whenever necessary.

For me, I understand the desire to have a bigger island... BUT by having a limit, it will force me to switch out areas; I'm planning on a rotation depending on what I'm into at the time.

I remember GCN's map being HUGE too, like almost unreasonably so. But I was a younger kid, and hilariously bad at video games (I know this from replaying a lot of my GBC/GBA games as an adult).

Idk if the island map is really all that small, we can just pack it full of stuff in a way we never really could before. I'm sure there's a block-count out there.

Honestly, I never played that title, but have seen playthroughs and to me it seems pretty big, especially how the map is divided.

I would pay for a dlc to increase my island size and total villagers! But i also feel like i enjoy the size of the island because it is more managable. I only want a bigger island now that i have developed mine so much.

Yeah the GameCube map was a bit bigger compared to NH, honestly if the map was gamecube’s size I’d be content.

Think I’m just so used to games with huge maps It makes NH’s map just feel so small in comparison lol.

Tbh my island feels pretty big, but it's probably because I destroyed all rivers and only have bits of water strewn about (e.g., ponds and waterfalls just to add to the scenery)
