My adventures while island hopping

I'm island hopping for items right now so I figured I'd make a post with unique stuff that happens (ugh I have to talk to Kappn so much I hate him).

I went to an island and several of the cinnamoroll clothes were in the shop. I assume it was a hacker. I didn't buy any in fear of my game (recently had to restart my whole pokemon X game because of a hacked Arceus corrupting my save).

I went to an island that had two other players and as I went to leave the convo went like this:

Boy: Hi
Me: Hi
Girl: sorry uuuuh
Boy: It's ok
Me: *in the process of leaving*
Girl: the next two are 47 and...
Me (to myself): I wonder what that means?
Girl: 69 noice
Me: *dies laughing as my character leaves instantly after*

And someone saying they had the item I wanted, but wanted me to give them my FC first. ;^; I left as soon as they asked for it.

I just want a hammer. xD

Man there are so many weird people on the islands. Though that is to be expected since the game is 6-7 years old. You’re not going crazy yet, are you? I can’t imagine the amount of time spent Kappn talking and the waiting you have to face to go to another island.

I never use to talk to anyone.
I'd walk in, look for a silver axe or other rarity (usually I was on a wetsuit hunt), then I'd bail.

Nah, I took a break eventually. I can only stand Kappn for so long (why did Nintendo make him so creepy) and my game loads relatively quick fortunately. At least I didn't run into anything too bad like a mean hacker or anything. ;w;

I never use to talk to anyone.
I'd walk in, look for a silver axe or other rarity (usually I was on a wetsuit hunt), then I'd bail.

I usually just bail too unless someone says hi before I get the chance to leave. The most I'd say is "hi im island hopping" and either get an "oh ok" or no response.
The only reason I got that person wanting my FC in exchange for a hammer was because it was the second time I had popped onto that island so I decided to explain in more detail that time around.

The island is like the wild west. You can find some humble hackers who are super chill and awesome, the hackers who have a ego complex, or beggars.

Then you have international, where you can really awkwardly try communicate through language barriers :S

i take advantage of the hackers not even gonna lie. usually ill ask them for items and theyll drop it. i got infinity baskets of every perfect fruit displaying just the number of 0 instead of 9 and its pretty cool

So it's alright to take items from hackers? They won't hurt your game? I'm honestly scared to do so because I got a hacked shiny arceus through wonder trade in my Pokemon X game and about a month later my save is corrupted one day randomly and I have to start over. Not sure if it's the same for ACNL (I'd rather be safe then sorry).

Do not take things like mannequins or petition forms from hackers as these cannot be dropped and you cannot get rid of them without hacks but as long as the hacked item can be taken out of your game without hacks then it is safe

hasnt hurt mine yet! plus baskets full of 9 perfect fruit go for 21,000 bells at retail and since i can keep grabbing one over & over and fill my whole inventory with 9 baskets of perfect fruit i make like 300k in no time and feel like i got infinite $$$$$$$$

I remember getting all the infinite perfect fruit baskets back in the day, one time I was curious and added a peach to the infinity basket and it went to 9 ): I haven?t seen those in forever and I wish I could get my hands on them again.

go to the island on a normal time in the USA! like 4-5 pm EST. there is usually a hacker on, itll take like 1-3 trips to finally find one. you can tell theyre a hacker because they have all gold medals and usually theyre pretty chill if you ask nicely
