I kind of need themmm now actually. Is your resident in boxes? As long as you don't TT or allow your game to move past 6am of that day and the person comes and talks to the villager to move them into his/her town; there's no risk in having that villager move to my town.

EDIT: or 12 AM to be safe XD.
