i have two uchis and two peppys in my town right now but i really like how they feel different from each other? like how rosie is like,, a cute soft baby and tabby is your slightly weird but very cheerful classmate? and how muffy tells you to eat warm oatmeal when you can't sleep but hazel tells you to eat a crunchy carrot :)))) it's just pretty cool to me how they don't feel like clones of each other just because they have the same personality?

do you guys also have villagers with the same personality? how do they act different from each other?

I seem to always have multiple normals, as they have my favorite design.
But it gets insanely bland. Because all personalities are the same, just a different design.

So I never felt this way tbh. I hear about the same thing from Flurry to Merengue, so its hard for me to keep multiple of the same personalities for too long.

Sadly whenever I have the same type villager, they end up saying the same context. It's mostly Normal or Peppy villagers, since they seem to have the most similar text. I don't know, but whenever I talk to Goldie or Fauna, and Rosie too, they end up saying the same thing. Not sure how since Goldie and Fauna are Normals, but Rosie is Peppy? Maybe they put similar writing for both types but it gets really annoying and boring.

I must agree with the above, I have multiple normal villagers as well and after a while they do get quite similar. Same with my two lazy type villagers, they often say the same things. However I don't mind too much, there are subtle differences like you point out and I do understand the game can't have custom dialogues for the hundreds of villagers available..

I also had more than one villager with the same personality and to be honest I didn't saw any
difference between them except for their design. At first it felt like for me that they are a little
bit different from each other even if they had the same personality, but this seems to be a illusion
as they start to say the same things over and over again. I kinda wish that villagers would act
a bit different even if they have the same personality, at least a different dialogue would be
nice, as it start to become stale if they repeat the same things so many times without saying
something new.

Back in the early days of NL, I had Shep and Marshal in my town. For some reason, I thought Shep was a lazy and Marshal was a smug, because while they did occasionally say similar things, Shep would talk about food way more than Marshal, while Marshal would always talk about trains. Shep barely mentioned trains.

Other then that, nope, it's pretty much the same stuff over and over again. Which is why I try to have atleast 1 of every personality, but for towns like Treehut, that won't happen, which will be Cranky & Lazy heavy. Infact, I think once all my dreamies are obtained, I'll have only 2 girls? Tipper and Vesta.

it's pretty inevitable to have multiple of the same personality, since there's only 8 and people typically have 9 or 10 villagers.
i have two lazies (pudge and chester), two normals (pekoe and june), and two peppies (cheri and bluebear). maybe the differences are just my own headcanons, but they're still nice to think about. for example:
  • cheri is slightly older than bluebear (like less than a year) and has slightly more experience being an idol bear cub, which bluebear greatly admires
  • pekoe and june come from very different cultures. pekoe is chinese while june is hawaiian.
  • pudge is younger than chester. both of them want to be cool adults, but pudge clings a little more to childhood than chester does.
  • cheri prefers sleek and modern aesthetics while bluebear prefers cutesy aesthetics
  • pekoe eats a lot of sweets (but is a little embarrassed about it). june eats sweets too but she also eats lots of fruits and veggies
  • pudge eats more seafood than fruit, and chester is vice versa
also, i see chester and pudge as having a brotherly relationship while cheri and bluebear are girlfriends. :)

I actually have felt differences in villagers with the same personality. That could be why I get more attached and don't just view them for their aesthetics. It depends on the personality, though. Normals always seem to fall back on the same dialog and because so many of them have the same cute aesthetic, it can get repetitive.

But my uchis have all felt quite different. Pashmina was kind of snobby and rude. She was always stomping around my town angrily. Hazel was a cute little tomboy who was very easy to get along with. Sylvia was a frazzled mom, trying her best not to lose herself. Paula was the only uchi I've had so far who actually felt like a big sis. She would look out for me and have my back no matter what.

I've noticed differences in other villagers with the same personality too, but none quite as distinctive as the uchis. I think part of it has to do with the situations I catch them in, the villagers they interact with, and so on causing different dialog to pop up. And part of it is their aesthetic and the expressions they make when they say certain lines, which can make me view the same dialog in a different way.

maybe the differences are just my own headcanons, but they're still nice to think about.
Yeah! I really love making up stories for my villagers with my friend, it's a big part of what makes playing so fun!

cheri prefers sleek and modern aesthetics while bluebear prefers cutesy aesthetics
Oh man yeah now that you mention it muffy's house is like a fancy rich person house but hazel's like a neat and simple homey kind of house? And rosie has this very pink and cutesy thing going on but tabby has like, ,, a spa?

But man your headcanons are really cute and i had fun reading them :') also tiny bear cub gfs... perfect

all my peppys and snootys act the exact same haha
but i like separating them from eachother
it really makes me giggle when a snooty makes fun of a peppy
Cookie? That so-and-so really hogs a couch D:<
