Multiple Towns

Ok, uh, two things:
? So, I want to own two towns. I love the town I have now, and I'm still in the progress of working on it, and I want it to be nice and cozy and without a theme. But... I'd also love to make a Harry Potter themed town?? So, my question is: How can you have two towns? Like... I know there's only one town allowed, but I don't know if it's on that specific game card, or in the 3DS's data, or both? So I don't know if I can just buy another copy of ACNL, or if I have to buy another 3DS/2DS XL-

and!!

? Just curious- for those that have two towns or more, what are their themes, if any?? Or if you want multiple towns, what theme/different aspect would you give them?

You'll have to either buy another cartridge or buy the e-shop/virtual version. I myself have two towns, two cartridges, and one 3DS. The town information is saved in the cartridge, so as soon as you insert one, your town will be there. The downpoint is that having 2 towns makes you want to trade with yourself (let's say you're looking for a specific item in one of the towns and find it... on the worng one), and with only 1 3DS you'll need to depend on other people to let you do the trades via wifi. But it's totally doable, as I've been doing this for almost a year now.

My town themes are completely different, cute/fairtytale on Sundance and Zen/chinese zodiac themed on Hangzhou. It's nice to explore all the possibilities without having to miss stuff because of your theme.

Oh, okay, thank you for the information!! I think I'll just buy the dowloadable version instead of another cartridge, and as far as trading goes, I can just use my older or younger brothers' towns to trade stuff between my two towns, pfft

Also, those themes sound really nice!! Especially the zen one?? And if you don't mind me asking, what are your dream adresses? I love to check other towns out!

I didn't read this whole thread (oops) so I'm not sure if you're up for it, but I have a hacked town, which allows you to switch between town saves on one copy of ACNL. Its super easy and surprisingly, as long as you know what you're doing, its hard to mess up.
I used to have two towns, but I got rid of it since I didn't use it. I still want to make another town which a different theme, compared to my current pink/spring town, but in the future.

That's why I started my secondary town because my original town that I play most in named Hogwarts actually lol is my relaxing, no theme, villagers do w/e they want town. Then when I started getting to the landscaping and design aspect of the game, I got the digital version to make a themed town. I'm currently working on a beach themed town!

I totally want to start a second town too, I'm just debating on when. I have a lot more ideas and I would love to explore my options in a second setting. My current town (the DA, town name, etc is all in my signature) is a mystical zen town set at night (usually in winter) and it really has a magical vibe; I love the villagers as a collective. It's a very dense forest town but I would love to attempt an even more natural town with natural paths for my second one~! <3
What is your town's current theme?

Hopefully one day the beach town will be done and be in it's full glory! Hopefully that happens before a new AC games out lol When I started Hogwarts, I had every intention on making it a themed town, but I just let my villagers do whatever they wanted oh well they're happy I guess lol. I'd love to see a Harry Potter themed town, so if you do it share it us please

I have exactly this as well. I also have a New 3DSXL, so I can put my cart into that DS and launch my digital copy on my 2dsxl if I ever want to trade with myself. My old mayor helped my new town kick off a lot.
It's definitely worth it imo to have two copies.

I do the same with my secondary console! It makes things a lot easier that's for sure. It's nice when you need petition signatures or sometimes Re-Tail will have the other town's perfect fruit for sale which is a great easy way to make money!

This, plus two towns for turnip prices and if one town has good prices, time travel to sunday in another...it all works haha

Im not sure about all the details, I followed a youtube video explaining how to hack using home-brew. I do use the save editor, but I have old 3ds software.

My 2nd town is my Guest Town and set in a different season and day of the week. It's a place that my online friends can drop by, sell items and catch bugs/fish. In the 2nd town if I have high price turnips or premium fruit I leave it set on that date for 2 to 3 days so everyone can sell.

If you need a break from one of the towns you can freeze time once you stop a mover. I have more than 2 towns and have 3 frozen in time right now.

i have 3 game copies and like 5 towns or something bc i use homebrew to back thrm up and replace the town on a cartridge

i dont really have a great theme to all of them but one is my main town which is an all frog town, another is a zelda themed town, then i have a trauma? one and uhh the other two just kinda exist. im planning on making one into a labyrinth town and the other into an autumn forest town but ive barely started on either of them fdrhdfhzfhdsg
i rarely play animal crossing anymore so idk if i?ll ever finish some of them :<

I have two copies and two consoles and it's really hard devoting the time it takes to play both if you're trying to keep them on the same day and that day is the real date... But!!! I think that the game knows because yesterday Lopez told me he liked my friend from my other town and hoped we'd stay up laughing all night... It's got its pros and cons that's for sure but it adds things that you would miss out on so it's worth it.

i have a 2ds xl and a 3ds xl and 3 copies of acnl. my first town is pretty much done and it's not themed but i like it. my 2nd town, i want to do a green theme so i planted bamboo and let it grow crazy and did a lot of time travel so the town is pretty much run over with bamboo. i am still waiting to get all my wanted villagers to move in. it definitely helps to have 2 ds systems to trade, especially when you find a great price for turnips. lol

I have one 3DS and 2 towns, one is on a cartridge the other is downloaded to my system, I?ve also played my on sisters cartridge with no problem so you can have as many different physical copies of the game as you?d like! I?m not sure about how many of the download games you can have but I?m assuming it?s only one

Ooh, that sounds so pretty.... and I'd love to visit it!!
Also, my town doesn't really have any specific theme?? But I had to say, I guess it would have.. like... sort of a pink forest, set in the spring, in the late afternoon?? The funny thing is, I don't even like the color pink-
