So I have a dreamy moving out Anyway, someone told me I don't have to go through the 16 villager cycle if its the same villager that was in your town before that I'm getting! Please tell me I don't have to go through all 16

You do but what if it's the exact SAME villager. Like I give it someone and get it from that same person.

If a villager moves out and you want it back, you will need to have 16 villagers move out. Say you just gave a villager to your friend and you want him/her back, you will need to cycle through 16 villagers.

I believe you still have to cycle. Even if you got the same exact villager you traded away, it won't remember you. It will be almost completely new, I believe.
