Moving out--> museum donations? please help!:)

My cousin wants to move out of our town to start another and be the mayor of her own town. We've been playing together for over a year and shes donated like half of the museum contents. When she moves, will my town lose everything shes donated?

And she also has items on display 2nd floor museum. Does she need to take them out before she chooses to move out? If anyone could help, id greatly appreciate it!

What she donates will stay, but you need to take her items out of the second floor.

Also get her to check her saved mail and remove things she wants to keep.
She could leave it on the ground and save/quit. Than start the game back up and move to her new town.
You can drop the item in her town when she picked the right map.
