Moving from one town to another?? Help!?

I was wondering, for a while now, if it's possible to transfer all your stuff from one town, to another? Like, if I could buy a second copy and play on the same 3DS, time travel and cheat my way 'till I get all the stores or somethin' and a nice house again, and then transfer villagers and all that over..?
My ex bought me my copy of ACNL, and because of that, he insisted that he played first, which resulted in his dumb character being mayor, and he chose the name of the town (URRGGHH), and I cannot stand the guy now, after learning some criminal record stuff, hah...
Any tips, ideas, and responses..? :O I've got the majority of my dreamies at this point, and I've put in a fair amount of effort, but the town name and mayor thing drives me up the WALL!

Do you have only one 3DS? I think that if you don't, the only thing you can do is ask someone to hold your villagers for you while you cycle them out. So you'd get one villager to move, ask someone to hold that villager, then get them to get that villager to move and invite that villager into your new game. Then repeat this step for all your villagers.

I don't think it's possible to transfer saves otherwise, especially since you have a different town, mayor, etc.

I've heard that it is possible to move a non-mayor character to a new town, which is the second copy. You'll become the mayor of the new town. As for transferring items and saves in general, I don't think so.

You can get someone to hold your stuff and then cycle your villagers to their town and then when you start a new game, you can pick your items back up and the person holding your villagers can cycle them out and into your town.

Yeah, I know for sure that you need two 3DS's for that, which isn't much of a problem, since I know others with 3DS's that would help, I'm sure! Is it actually possible for the second character to move to a new town, and become mayor? That would be pretty fantastic, that's for sure

It is, you just load up your [NEW] game. and select the option "move in" this will search for your other DS which will be near by and Isabell will say "what would you like to do" and you just say you want to move.
