Movie Ticket Prices.

movies around here can be super expensive, like $25usd for one person, and i think thats rather ridiculous. there is one movie theater, though, that shows movies for $5 on tuesdays, except they are always so packed when its a new movie. we have a couple rules for going to the movies,
1.) bring a large purse with lots of goodies. usually ill run to mcdonalds for a soda or speedway for an icee for under $1, grab some cheap snacks or a sandwich or whatever, and stash it in the purse very strategically so nothing spills.
2.) always go to the $5 tuesday movie theater. its just not worth it to go somewhere else
3.) wait at least 2 weeks after the movies initial release before you go see it. those movies are so much less crowded because everyone else has already seen them.

I think mine is around $9.00. I usually go on $5.00 wednesdays.

But, I went to see Finding Dory the other day for $14.

I hate going to the movies now. Too expansive, loud, and not at all comfortable. Not to mention gross.

I mean the times I DO go to the movies I usually go to the cheap "later release" theater nearby, the tickets are pretty cheap, especially during the day. The food is still expensive and stuff but I usually try not to get anything there and just bring stuff in my bags, one time I brought in like 6 juice boxes and drank them all during the movie. I do think the 3D tickets are a bit crazy, especially the "big" theater ones, like the XXD or whatever, but it's worth it I guess. *shrugs*

No movies are way too expensive these days. I've had to go less and it's one of my favorite things to do.

So real question then becomes does paying big ticket price and over price candy on a big screen make for a good time.
Wile i admit price suks , i would not trade the fun times and special moments i have had at the movies.

It is a place where dreams come alive magic is real and you hearts desire is but a moment away.

Yeah and that is why i think it is only matter of time before movie theaters go the way of the Dinosaur, between raising ticket prices and,
Snack Bar Prices it is only matter time before it outpace it's self. Not to mention running a theater seems to be a loseing proposition,
atleast thats what you would think if you looked at the profitability reports.

Places like Netflicks and Fandango and others are all ready moving the focus from ticketing and tv to home platform and movies that are,
released in home first are at a all time high even so much movie companys took out a muti million dollar ad buy to ask people to,
support movies in theater over home.

Movie theater prices are ******** like the food prices are. That's why I don't go too often; only as a treat. I sneak snacks in and sometimes drinks cause screw paying $4 for a drink.

I also only go see movies I REALLY want to see at a theater. Otherwise I find it online and watch it there for free.

It's 11.99 for an adult ticket here. More if it's 3D and what not. Kids and senior tickets are a little less expensive. The food is what is expensive. So I sneak in dollor store food if we have time to go before the movie. Cinaplex has a decent points card though. Its easy enough for me to rack up 1000 points to get a free movie.

Kinda funny how movie theater make items that are cheap cost way too much here is what suff costs at my movie theater

Box of Mike&Ikes $ 4.25 Cost at Rite Aid $ 1.79 (for big box) 98? for small box same size at theater gives you more then 400% mark up
Popcorn Bucket $ 7.50 Pop Secret 3 pack equal to bucket 2.49 at Walmart. 300% mark up.
Soda $6.25 for a large Large soda at McD's .99? 600% mark up. worth also saying soda is less then 8? worth product.

But yeah, tickets are way too expensive. Where I am, it's $12 per ticket. $14+ for a 3D movie. And candy and popcorn and all that jazz is super expensive too. I tend to go to the gas station before going to the movie to stock up on dollar candy and soda, which I then hide in my purse because you can't bring in outside food. The only thing I buy for food is popcorn, because it's worth it. The theater makes the best popcorn.

Kinda expensive here for the general and "chain" cinemas so I don't attend those too often unless people take me out for it or I have a gift card. I do attend this art/oddball cinema when they are open though.

it's actually pretty cheap over here. it's like ?6 for a ticket but you get buy one get one free codes so it's more like ?3. food is really expensive but i just bring my own popcorn and snacks

$8 per person, but if you're a student, then it's only $5. I smuggle in my own food since food at movie theaters are so outrageously expensive.

I don't like the ticket prices, but the prices of the concessions bothers me even more.

Its $10 pet movie ticket in where i live. Pretty okay price if you ask me. For popcorn, im like the others. I don't buy popcorns from the cinema because they're expensive and the ones sold at supermarket taste better and price is lower.

I usually torrent everything but some things are better on the big screen. I don't mind paying sometimes.
