Do you guys ever just lose motivation in your town?
But then randomly came back to you?

It happened to me in my first town, because I kept PWP hunting for a certain bridge, but would get every other PWP, so I almost lost hope.
But when I finally got the bridge I wanted, I realized I had almost every other PWP I wanted as well, and now my town is almost complete! (My landscaping is 100% done, just finishing a few rooms in the houses before I send out my dream address)

Now I feel like that in my second town (My winter town, Snowflur)
I am PWP hunting again, while decorating my mayors house like a Snow Queen Castle, (I have to customize almost every piece of furniture D: )
I just feel like I am losing the motivation because I know everything will take so long to get done

What are your stories?

I lost motivation for a whole year. I played new leaf for a year when it came out but then I got bored and stopped for a year. My friend started playing recently so I have started playing again for the summer. Since the summer I have been finishing a lot of old tasks that I wanted to do. I got my public works that I was looking for all done, my paths are done, my characters houses are all paid off. Right now I'm just collecting all the flowers I need for my gardens throughout my town. Then I just have little things that I need to finish up and maybe work to get more of the badges for my main character. I also kind of want to get a second new leaf game but I might just wait until the next official title to make a new town.

I took like 2 or 3 hiatuses in ACNL. For some reason I just stopped playing around october of last year. I don't know why I quit I just didn't want to play anymore. I didn't pick the game back up until January when my dad was in the hospital (he's fine now don't worry) and I was just bored so I decided to pick the game back up. Then, after school started back up, I just slowly stopped playing. It wasn't until I found some cute QR codes in June that I got more serious about the game. Then I found this forum and now I have so much to do and look forward to that I don't think I'm taking a hiatus anytime soon! Unless school gets in the way

I take a hiatus every time school comes around, but that's an entirely different matter.

One of the big things for me is, I am a very story-driven person. So a lot of the time I prefer those kinds of games. ACNL doesn't do that for me, so whenever I play it it's a binge session sort of thing--I play months' worth of time in a few weeks, just chilling with it, and then I deny a request to move so I can safely set it down for a while. This is also why I resent anyone who tells me they think I should "try it without TTing!"--if I did that, I'd probably stop playing entirely out of boredom, and that's not what you want, is it?

>shakes fist

Motivation tends to be self-made for me. I need objectives, or I won't feel like playing--laying paths, building PWPs, moving villagers in and out, working on decoration, paying for Gracie's college loans or whatever those crazy prices are for, whatever, I need objectives. Just relaxing in the game isn't up my alley...so when that's all I have at a given time to do, I tend to lose motivation and set it down for a while.

actually, i've lost motivation recently. i was all amped up prior to that too, laying down paths, planting trees, putting up more pwps, but then...i just didn't feel like playing anymore. so i haven't in like a week.

oh, and before that i stopped playing because i was getting busy with school and i had a villager reset coming up. i didn't feel like spending possibly hours to days resetting for a villager while i had school work to do, so i just noted the day i stopped playing and picked it back up during the summer. good thing i waited too. it took me like a bit over a day to get someone i wanted (beau)

It comes and goes. Usually depends on my boredom. My last break happened because I got massively addicted to Fantasy Life (I still adore that game sigh...)

Now that I'm in a better position I can afford an hour a day to do a few chores and check on my animals. Back then finding the fossils and money rock and stuff got tedious. But eliminating those helps because I know I can finish w/e I gotta do in 40-60mins~

My motivation returned simply because I was bored and stressed and I have the digicopy so it's always there no matter where I am. I also got motivated because I bought the new XL and I wanted to put that baby to use!

My motivation itself has always been odd and selective and fleeting, so I tend to be flaky sometimes. I get bored easily. But I think I know enough about Animal Crossing now that it'll always be somewhat interesting to me, so I don't plan on another full-blown hiatus~

I also take a slight hiatus whenever school starts back up.

I also took a really long hiatus--1 year, if I remember correctly, and then now I'm back :) I guess I just got bored of the game. Now I'm restarting my town and I have tons more to look forward to (x

I lost interest a few months ago, but I randomly picked up the game again today; this was after I'd just reset before I stopped playing so it's been fun, essentially feeling like I bought a new game altogether.
