OK. This is a complaint/question.

I offered to sell full sets on a thread. The buyer (let's call him/her X) was looking for a bunch of things including full sets. We ended up negotiating 4mill IGB for 9 sets. I'd say the the price is pretty fair; not too high or low since most full set trades on this forum is 500k igb/set. I then noticed that I had more full sets and so offered them. It ended up being a total of 17 sets (222 furnitures). I was busy due to school picking back up and wasn't able to contact X for a week and when I did, X LIED and said that we made a deal of 2 mill IGB for 17 sets? WTF... so I told X that never happened but I can give you all 17 sets for 6 mill.

Trade never ended up happening since I'd rather not sell all that for 2 mill. X can go order all of those him/herself and see how long it'll take and hopefully realize that he/she was being a cheap ***.

Sorry for the rant.
Honestly I wouldn't even mind giving those away as a giveaway but the way X came off was just wrong & dirt cheap IMO. I'll prob end up giving them away after I design my town which might take a while.

Wouldn't you guys be annoyed too? Never making big trades again in case I run into another *** saying one thing and something completely different the next.

I would be pretty upset too, you guys both agreed on a price and then they lied and said that you said something else. Sorry OP! Not all of TBT is like that though.

I was helping a friend of mine get his dreamies, because he doesn't have too many IGB or anything up for trade. This guy on gamefaqs was having an auction for wolfgang, and I offered 5 million. He never told me he crossposted it, and ended it because I was "outbid". Never gave me a chance to name another price, and never posted an ending time.

That sucks too! I guess some people just come to forums and get what they want with least amount of effort/respect and then leave. I hope we don't encounter more crappy trade issues. At least it's still better than having things stolen. :D

I just wanted to know if I was over reacting or if others would be upset/annoyed as well. Thanks! Makes me feel better definitely. And no worries I love TBT, everyone else here that I've encountered so far has been sooooooooooo helpful & kind that it's been making ACNL more fun. To give back to the forum I've been thinking of doing a huge orderable give away after I find some time to play and get some work done in my town. I have more than a beach-full of orderables lying around... =/

I've experienced this in gamefaqs too. Host says they posted in different sites after stating the auction had ended. They don't even say where they posted. When I asked for a link, they completely blew me off.

@lunathenia : Sorry to hear that happened to you. It's very unpleasant,
and I would be very annoyed by it too.

Saw that convo history from your VM, and without naming names,
let's just say there are many in this forum who have a track record of being....not very nice.
It seems to me that such behavior (lying/making things up/blame shifting/scamming, etc) are certain people's natural habits.
They are programmed to act in that way; either that or it gives them a kick through these actions.

I would think that since you have so many complete sets, best to start a dedicated new thread just for all of them?
The Re-Tail forum is always active, and I'm sure many would be happy to pay your asking prices.

Yeah x-posting an auction can be very problematic, and always the cause of buyer/sellers' disappointments.
Not to mention the waste of your time when you have to keep track of the same auction on different sites.
I believe that's why x-posting is not allowed here in TBT.

Personally I do not like auctions, and would definitely stay away from 'auctions' that did not clearly state the rules, ending time, increments, starting bids and so on. The lack of these essential info indicated the seller either have no clue what 'auction' means and how it should be done, it is also greedy & selfish, as all they care about is the maximum amount they can get while disregarding any common courtesy. Hope you / your friend can obtain another Wolfgang soon! C:

I viewed the conversation and this person clearly offered the 4 mill then changed it to 2. Sorry that happened. I know how much time all that ordering can take.Just cleaning up the mail slot can be a long tedious task.

How much if I only want to catalog those full sets ? Please let me know, I need to catalog full furniture sets

I'm not too sure about catalog pricing. If it's only to catalog I'm fine with whatever will fit within your budget. I'll send you a VM so you get this message faster.

Yes, I believe it took about 4-5 hours since I didn't realize opening & closing the letters then opening the present and finally throwing the letters would take so long since each action requires a click. Probably another hour in addition to that since it took all my locker space and more XD.

I'll put it up on retail some time today and bury w/e doesn't sell to include it in a giveaway I'm planning on doing prob in a few weeks/months though.

I don't play enough for quick progress on my town even with TT :'(

Thiiis. Use this as an opportunity to make back what you invested. I'm sure that many people, myself included, would be willing to help you liquidate your stock. In the future, perhaps you should put a limit on how many sets you sell to each person at first to about 4-6? That way, it's less time wasted buying an storing them if the deal falls through. It seems safer to keep a low limit for first time buyers so that they earn your trust first before making such a longterm, large, and demanding purchase.

EDIT: Granted, I don't know if you've ever done business with them before.

@lunathenia I know who this is about :p That particular person is known for being difficult in all sorts of trades and I'd just recommend not doing any business with her again. She's quite immature.

^ Agreed. I've seen it happen way too many times with that user.

I once was trading for a villager, and the trader said to offer a price in TBT. Then I found out that they wanted something around the 300 area. I pointed out that that was a little too high, then whoever was offering me the villager said that "my opinion of pricing is of no importance to them" Then we never traded.

Some people just can't read or they just think they can scam anything. Obviously they don't have any feelings and it's best to not contact them and just avoid it now.

I have a fifth town and thought it would be nice to let people come over and catalog a bunch of sets. This took a ton of time. I ended up with 22 sets outside my station. They are all organized in their own area with a pattern around them. Someone brought me over a princess set and said that people could catalog it. I noticed that there was an extra chair in the set. I just left it there with the others. This made 14 pieces altogether.

A new user came over last night to catalog. I was keeping an eye on her when she went to the princess set. She didn't put back about 4 pieces. I told her she needed to drop them all. She said "oops,I'm sorry". Then she dropped all but the extra chair. I knew she had it, but she said she didn't. I watched her pick up all 14 pieces, so I was 100 percent it was in her pocket. I could have flipped the wifi, but two other people were there catalogging and I didn't want to ruin it for them, so I let it go.

It's annoying when you try to do something nice for people and they pull that kind od cr*p. A couple of visitors left without so much as a goodbye or thank you. Not exactly a huge crime, but when they spend 45 minutes catalogging 22 sets, you would think a simple thank you wouldn't be so hard.

I feel your pain, cuz big trades are very annoying. I would avoid it at all costs. It's just so time consuming. Especially if you have to order stuff, and then store it, and then wait for the other person to contact you, then FINALLY come over and do the trade...

I think you're better off selling one set at a time, honestly. Even if you're looking to get a huge payout in the millions, the hassle is not worth doing it all in one big lump. Again, that's just my opinion, but I've had the same experience you describe so many times, that I learned to just make things easier and simpler for myself.

I've had situations where I ordered the stuff and moved things around so I could store the stuff and then after a week or 2 the person never contacted me again...then after a long time contacted me and wanted their stuff, and it was just so much back and forth hassle that it gets in the way of enjoying your game. Finally, I put my foot down and said I would only do same day quick trades with people, or forget it. I mean I made a few exceptions for people who were really trustworthy, but for the most part, most big trades, or trades that take days to set up get to be huge hassle.

I saw who was causing trouble for you. I'm sorry that it happened. This is kinda the reason why I avoid playing online with people who are born in 2000 or later (with some rare exceptions). And by the way, why act that cheap when inflation is already high? I'm not referring to you. I'm referring to that person.

Anyway, I never really experienced any conflict on AC online, not even on Club Tortimer, but I have got into fights with other people who play Animal Crossing. However, this was on GameFAQs, back before I joined TBT, and all the AC community conflict I had was on the forums and not in-game through the Wi-fi. But I don't start the fights. There was a troll there who constantly picks fights with many users there. But that wasn't an AC online related conflict, so I won't go more in detail. Bottom line, I never really experienced this online.

Damn that is downright rude. Even for the people who didn't say thank you since you just wasted hours of your own game time to help others enjoy the game more. I always say thank you for any type of trade whether its giveaway, sell/buy, etc... and if I don't (ending the game too quickly before I could say ty) I write on their wall or PM or on the wifi-rating.

Yup better to just avoid and not even talk. If it was someone who could hold a respectful conversation, the person wouldn't play cheap in the first place unless they were utterly unaware. In that case, they ask to renegotiate.

Indeed. I too have decided to never set up for a trade unless its a small one. Its either now or never :D

Someone offered to buy a purple violet for 1 mill.... And there was actually someone who wanted to sell it for that amount. I mean come on a little profit is good enough. If you don't want to get ripped off, don't rip others off is my policy when I sell.
