Mono species island?

Has anyone done an island yet that only has one species of villagers? I realized I have a TON of cats on my island and thought that maybe I should just do a full cat island since I seem to like them so much!

I know that there were a bunch of people who would try doing that in New Leaf. It shouldn't be too difficult to finding the villagers you need / want in order to make this happen, especially since villager prices are fairly cheap compared to NL (with the exception of Raymond).

If you want to do it, I would say go for it.

My friend had a mono-species island but she ended up getting rid of some of the villagers for other species because she didn’t have all personality types (her species was wolf). But (someone correct me if i’m wrong pls) I’m pretty sure there’s a cat with each personality type, so if you did a full cat island it would be much easier to have all personalities. There’s definitely a bigger variety of personalities and designs with cats compared to some other species so I think a cat island could be really cool.

i almost had an all deer island back when i played new leaf, its really fun !!! i wish i could do all dog for NH but ..i would have 5 lazys..and that means letting go of some others that i love that arnt dogs!!!

i think an only one species island is always a really cute idea !!!!

an all cat island is very tempting, but i feel like theres villagers of other species that i really want, and theres one cat thats a little hard to get right now lol

They're really cool but it's not something I would probably do since my favorites come from a ton of different species. I'd consider it if I had a second island though! I'd definitely do it if it's something you're interested in and it sounds like you're already a decent way there to completing it.

So far for new horizons I have seen all cats and all deer. Heard someone once debate on all duck villagers to have a real duck pond. XP
I know in NL I saw at least 1 all wolf town... havent seen anyone try that in NH yet.

It sounds cool but I want variety for sure! Would get tired of seeing just cats, or dogs (or any other of the same species) all the time

there are too many villagers of all types of species that i like to have a monospecies island on my main game, but if i ever got a switch lite and second copy (not likely though) i would love to do either an all-squirrel or all-rabbit island.

I wanted to do all deer back in NL too! Gosh I miss my 3ds XL! I'm thinking if I do this I'll do it very slowly or maybe half and half I have a few villages I'm really attached too! I love Sheb, Judy and Dobie to pieces!

Ugh! I feel that I really want a second island to do this with but I can't justify buying a second switch or buying a lite!

Before I got the game, I knew I wanted an all cat island. I'm still working on it since there are randoms that move in every once in a while. I need to kick out Deirdre, Aurora, and Chevre first. If I have good luck with the mystery islands, I can make it happen. I just have to find islands with Felicity, Mitzi, and Rudy camping out.

I would love to see an all squirrel island! I had both Marshal and Poppy, letting them leave is one of my biggest regrets!

I thought about it when I played NL but decided with mythical creature villagers instead and now Im trying that theme again. The only animal type I could do would be deer. Deer have the best designs in my opinion

I've seen an island with all cats, and one with all penguins. I don't remember what their names were. It was island tours on YouTube.

I haven't done it but the thought has crossed my mind several times. Either a cat island or an eagle island.

Or, a maybe a feline island (cat, lion and tiger).
