Either for not playing, doing something your not susposed too, or so fourth.

Just recently been getting back into Stardew Valley, trying to be friends with everyone. Then told by the fortune teller at the fair, that Im gonna break alot of hearts... Seriously this game guilts you alot if your high friendship with the bachlors or bachelorettes, and if your not in the relationship it just reminds you how your gonna hurt everyone.

I just want friends lol.

Well I love this game. But being called a heart breaker just makes me feel bad. Ive only been here for two months im not ready to get serious.

Anyway, any moments you've had where a game made you feel guilty??

When I played Mario Kart 64 and I came in 4th place I was shocked by all the game treated me. Just blew me up with a bomb and then just said "What a pity". To show an example this is what It looks like:
WOW, that was an insane throwback for me.

In Mario Party 7 (maybe others too, idk) when you're in last place for Bowser Time, Bowser summons you, singles you out in front of everyone, points at you, and says "_____, you're so lame!"

I always was like I'm sorry Bowser! Don't hurt me!

Disco Elysium has quite a few moments where characters will ridicule you for saying/doing certain things, and even the inner-monologue will call you out for doing something ridiculous. I really love it ;_;

Back when I played Paper Mario: Sticker Star at 5-6 years old, when Kersti yells at you at the beginning, I was internally crying because this random stranger was yelling at me for touching a comet. Yeah, I was a dumb child. Also, what is with the Sticker Star hate? I understand the Kersti part, she can be annoying, but why the game itself?

It was Undertale. An interesting thing about the game is that you can get through it by slaughtering everything in sight, or by not fighting a single thing, and different playstyles would lead to different outcomes. I planned to do a moderate route for my first run, fighting a few things here and there, but mostly nonviolent. (I had no idea what the different endings were and had no interest in spoiling anything for myself.)

Near the beginning, I had to fight Toriel, who was like my second mom. I panicked, not knowing she wouldn't kill you if you faced off against her long enough. So, in self defense, I killed her. I was so guilty I turned the game off and had to reset. I couldn't bear to kill her. I never got around to a fully violent run of the game. I loved the characters too much.

It kind of freaked me out, but the game actually registered me doing this, and a character actually called me out on resetting the game to spare Toriel and mocked my guilt, making me feel more guilty. Like, the game actually went out of its way to make me feel guilty.

Pokémon RBY and FRLG when you are forced to battle and KO the Marowak ghost. When first playing RBY as a teenager, I was like everyone else and didn’t think too much about the Ghost or what we were really doing as it just seemed like any other obstacle in the games like the Snorlax blocking the path or needing to Surf on water to reach Cinnabar Island. Only while playing FRLG as a 20 year old did I realize the horrible implication all players were doing to the Marowak Ghost. It clearly didn’t want to hurt you and was doing no actual harm as the Channelers were implied to be insane to begin with and it was just making sure its baby was safe. KO it just seemed so cruel as it only attacked you because it didn’t know that you meant no harm and was a friend. This is one thing I’m glad the Let’s Go games did right and had us not battle the Ghost.

For me, it's whenever you return to your Animal Crossing village after a week or two and the villagers start freaking out about how you were gone for "soooo long" and that they got so bored they took up stargazing or pottery or xylophone or whatever....

In Wild World when you shut off the game to reset something and Resetti talks to you about how you can't just reset when you don't like something in real life. Riiip.

Dragon Quest Builders 2. Moonbrooke.

I didn't even want to put Malroth in the prison, but no, the game forces you to. Then when he gets out, he makes numerous comments on how hurt he is by 'my' actions, and even announces that, after helping everyone fight the enemy, we're through as soon as we get back to the Isle of Awakening. He also says this:

"Never once did you come down to visit me. You're disgusting, [Flicky]."

I did come down to visit - the game just somehow found me digging a tunnel underneath to your cell, and blocked me off. I felt both guilt and offense at the same time at that remark.

Omg Sonic Adventure 2's Chao Garden, specifically when you try to say goodbye to a Chao ;-;
My Chao Gardens were always so overrun with too many Chao that it was hard to keep track of everyone, so I tried to use the Chao Transporter to say goodbye to some Chao to help pair down the amount, and oh dear god does the game make you feel AWFUL for it LOL

Literally listen to the music that plays when you're trying to say goodbye:

It also shows THIS screen at the same time:

If this wasn't a clear intention of trying to get you to feel like the worst person ever for even thinking about getting rid of your precious Chao idk what is 🤣
Needless to say, I could never do it and I still have all of my little Chao to this day c':>

Doki Doki Literature Club. That's all I'm saying.
Joking aside, I felt so bad for all of these girls. Even Monika, despite her being the antagonist. Deleting her felt bad, man. Psychological horror games sure know how to mess with your head and make you feel things.

I also felt so so sorry for Laura in Silent Hill 2. And for Lisa Garland in Silent Hill. Even though our characters don't exactly do anything to them, their storylines are super sad.

It gets hate for being vastly different from the previous games.

The bosses also are tedious unless you use the One Thing the Game Wants You To Use on the Boss.

Also Nintendo's continued insistence on Only Being Toads.

This actually legit is the saddest thing I've ever seen in a video game. I remember as a kid tossing my chao in the bin to see what it even was and when the message and music started playing, my entire being shattered and I was like NO NO NO!! I never wanted to erase my chao. So yeah, haven't been on that screen since. Literally depressing.

I felt the exact same way, at first I was like “Nice an option to say goodbye to a few, maybe now my gardens won’t be so overrun-“
*instant guilt trip depression music*

Definitely made me think twice in the moment LOL

I used to feel guilty for not wanting to play Wii Fit some days cause I knew that when I missed a day that Balance Board would know and call me out for it whenever I came back. Also whenever you didn't meet the goal you set for yourself the Balance Board guy would make you say why you didn't meet the goal with a few chosen options on the screen. At one point though I just stopped caring and now pick up the game whenever I feel like it.
Now have a photo of the times I started playing Wii Fit again!
