So ive been ignoring Eugene because he plopped his house right infront of my own, which spoiled my plans of decoration, so i thought no big deal. I'll ignore him till he leaves. The other day i was walking around my town and its been nearly 2 weeks since i hadnt spoken to him. I randomly heard a ping of a villager behind a tree. Instantly i turned round to talk to the villager without looking who it was. To my suprise. EUGENE. I was so gutted that i'd spoken to him after all this time. EITHERWAY. He actually requested the police station PwP.

So i'm sat here happy that ive finally gotten the police station PwP but at the same time annoyed that Eugene now will take forever to get out of my town!

Just thought i'd share my story with you guys. Ever had anything like this? Haha!

Drake asked to move and I said stay even though I want him to leave. I reset but I don't know if he'll still leave on the 29th (today)?!? Or does he have to ask again to leave? Its not really the same situation but similar enough as I have been ignoring him for ages xD

I think he has to ask again. Still thats crazy. We spend all this time not speaking to villagers then just randomly do it. All that time wasted D:

I'm 95% sure the ignoring villagers rule is simply a myth.. I've cycled through 70+ villagers and TT'd through 4 years (most of it day-by-day) and I've never had a villager move out 1 week after ignoring them.. They take much longer than that.. Especially considering you MUST have someone else try to move out before your newest villager can try

It's absolutely not a myth. It's because you're time traveling and not playing normally PLUS you need to make the effort to chat to everybody else (other than the shunned villager) you pass by on a daily basis. I do that and it works every time usually within 1 week. It never fails. I've even done it with 2 villagers at once... Drake and Jitters moved in to my village and I disliked them both, chatted to everyone except them, Drake went first followed by Jitters a week later. Friendship levels are also a factor, I think I need to make a guide on this cause it seriously never fails when I do it.

I played two months not time traveling and now that I decided to give my 3ds to my niece someday I started time traveling day by day. Since I got the game in June I had Deena for a month an a half (3 months time travel) ignoring. I find it much easier to chat up the villagers and befriend them quickly. Most of the villagers I like from the campsite ask to move out a week or two later just because I do things for them every chance I get. At least, from my personal experience.

I went through a period of time where I was trying to solely cycle out Frita.. I have two characters, one of which I talked to everyone on.. And I then had a second character who had never talked to anyone, but I talked to Frita and everyone once, and then talked to my other 9 villagers every day.. And it took Frita 6 weeks to move

Nah. Its easily possible to talk to everyone besides the one you're moving on a daily basis while TT'ing. Time Traveling only speeds the process up, not ruin it.

I think it's a myth in the sense that it's not 100% fool-proof. I don't think answering villager's pings counts as you actively interacting with them. I always answered everyone's pings and one of my unintentionally ignored new villagers asked to move out within 2 weeks or less (a few days after my town becomes full); whereas I gave up ignoring a villager that I wanted to move out, initiated conversation with him a few times and he still asked to leave within about 3 weeks (also a few days after my town becomes full). I think move-outs are mostly random. Low friendship level might give you a higher chance of move-out ping but it's not really a guarantee.

You could try to do a reset run about 2 or 3 days after your town becomes full. Someone is bound to want to move out then. I've read that some people would run around town to see if anyone pings them about moving out or talks about someone wanting to move. If it's not the right villager, they quit the game without saving and load it again to try for a different move-out ping.

My move-outs usually happen like this, give or take a day:

day 1: full town, 10th villager is done unpacking
day 2: nothing
day 3: villager A asks to move (I decline)
day 4: nothing
day 5: villager B asks to move (I agree)

Also, fun fact: after you agreed/declined your villager's request to move away, make sure you still answer his/her pings. I've received two PWP suggestions from villagers who were in the process of leaving.

Do you know what your friendship level was like with Frita? Ignoring MAY work with me every time because pretty much ALL my regular villagers are best, best friends with me... So maybe with ones I don't like and ignore it's very easy for me to get rid of for that reason. Some of the best friends also ask to leave but I don't let them. Ones I dislike and ignore always ask to leave within a week or so.

FAO you can test friendship levels with the megaphone. Call them when you're on the same screen (but not too close!) and they'll look around randomly if you're not good friends, if you're close friends they'll wave or bow at you, if you're super close they'll wave or bow AND sing... all my regulars do the last. Get them all to that stage and you may find it easier to get rid of crappy villagers!

I'd introduced myself and that was it.. I was talking to everyone else in my town every day, and they all had relatively high friendship level as I'd had them a long time

Lionel asked to move TWICE and both times I told him to GTFO and he was like "Awh, I thought we were friends. I guess I'll stay and be a better friend ;D" and I'm like "NO! LEEEEAVE >:C"
