So...I recently got Tia and oh my gosh i love her so much! So i thought why not get Merengue too? Tea, cake and biscuits (because of Biskit in my town too lol i guess its a British thing) so i go on forum last night and luckily she was original and being sold for 150 TBT i was like "May has pls?" and the person who was selling was so nice and gave me her. I time travelled after my boyfriend went to bed and have been resetting so i can get her in a nice cute spot so she can stay forever...until this point, right now. she was in the most perfect space on the screen i sung hallelujah and pressed continued...heh...DO DO NOT PRESS CONTINUE! My little mayor walks out of her house and...she's ruined my cedar trees and black tulips. I'm protective over my town...i have worked a year plus on my town...i'm a girl that knows what she wants...so..i'm upset...i'm pissed and don't know what to do. I don't know if i can enjoy her now but i also don't want to go through 16 fricken villagers trying to get her back....it takes too fricken long! What happens if i get attached to other villagers?

I'm asking for opinions or advice to see me through. Has this happened to you? Did you care it happened or shrugged it off? It is a game i understand this but its building something from the ground up things you've unlocked by playing EVERYDAY to then be destroyed. You can get it back sure, but why when it was there? When you already accomplished it...*sighs.

Unfortunately, the start-up screen usually doesn't show you what's actually going on in your town. I'm very sorry that this happened to you - I've seen this happen quite a few times, so you're not alone!

If you think that cycling takes too long, and you think that you could get attached to other villagers, then I suggest moving her out. It sounds like the best option in your case. Additionally, nothing in this game is permanent - maybe you will eventually cycle out 16 villagers and decide that you want to get Merengue back.

Edit: also, you can buy more cedar saplings and tulips. I know that it took a while to build, and it's frustrating to see it all go down the drain, but I'm sure that it can be fixed! c:

I know this struggle oh too well. Whether it's worth keeping her or not is up to personal preference, what do you find more important? Villagers or landscaping?

My suggestion is starting the cedar tree/black tulip forest in another area. Give it a few days, see how you respond to the changes and go from there. I know how disappointing this is. In my last town, I had circular groves of perfect apple trees that I adored. And villagers kept moving in and ruining them. Every time I would plant a new grove, BOOM, someone else would move in and destroy them. I eventually started the town over. However, you sound pretty happy with yours, so I say give it a few days. Perhaps the new grove will be even more beautiful. Good luck, sweetie :)

Besides the ruined cedar forest and black tulips, is Merengue in a bad spot? If not, keep her. You can always get more cedar saplings and black tulips, you may not get another Merengue.

I think i agree...i have to get her out. There's no point in keeping her if i can't enjoy her. I don't hate her or dislike her just disappointed.

My towns appearance and villagers matter i rather collect their pictures first before sending them on their way so maybe..i'll do that. I eve have a little back garden that i call my memorial garden for the villagers that have come, given me their pictures and have left, that i have liked. It can all be fixed but i was hoping to give her a pretty garden like i do with most my villagers. Julian is the only exception, he has perfect trees around him and that suits him because he is a unicorn (plus he told me he chews on his juicy apple tv lol).

I would move them Dorian but i have no room to move around or play with. I have a lot of empty house plots bcause either they find a cuter spot or they end up messed up somewhere.

I'm afraid she is she iss in the middle of a path and you have to go around her house. I'm nit picking at the grass ware too right now and worried about it not growing back...

Grass will always grow back, even faster if you TT. (Grass wear in ACNL is not as bad compared to previous installments.)
Anyway, it seems Merengue is in a bad spot. I would move her out then. But, as yukikotobuki said, you can always do the sixteen villager cycle to get her back.

Mhmm i agree with you both and my boyfriend, he said the same thing. It really sucks..i might try to get her picture, i rather earn it. I wanted to put pink carnations around her house and make it all pretty..ohh well...

:( I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, sweetie. What a bummer. But yes, if it is going to prey on your mind, it's best to cycle her out.

It happened to me all the time. I only found out about plot resetting last week. I've been playing since the game first came out! But I liked the challenge of redesigning my town every time someone moved in.

I'm sorry that happened. :( Seeing a plot or villager's house on the main screen doesn't guarantee it will be there when you start the game.

I didn't know about plot resetting when I started so some of my villagers have spots that aren't really ideal but none of have been that bad.

Sorry to hear about that. Your town is amazing so I can't even imagine how crushing that would be. Honestly though, I'd just roll with it and let her house be wherever it is. Take it as a challenge and try to find a creative way to incorporate it. I've seen what you can do so I'm sure once you find a solution it'll be amazing :)

Ugh. It's hard. I don't plot reset so I live forever in a little world of terror of someone moving into a bit that I love. I've protected most of my favourite spots with PWPs like lampposts or benches.

That being said, I opened up my game yesterday and played for about 20 minutes, wandering around town as I usually do and finding fossils (so, you know, wandering EVERYWHERE around town) and then Tammy suddenly said to me she thought it was odd someone was moving in! I panicked and had to search everywhere. Thankfully the villager had moved in quite close to where my last villager had moved out. Just two spaces to the left. But she took out a special stump with her plot which I'm a bit sad about. But now I'm able to relandscape that bit of town and that's fun :)

Awwh thank you hun. Ehh i might go back to April Fools to collect her pic..or just move her out anyway and leaving earning her pic to when i have her next but they say time travelling backwards NO ONE moves out. I rather do that then go 5 months forward and a favourite to leave e.e. You been and seen my town...shes right at the corner of my cedar trees i'm not too worried she's destroyed them i'm just devastated i can't do anything about it or make her house pretty i reallllly cant.

Plot reset isn't easy but it can get you what you want or at least what's ideal. Its hard but i'm glad your so lucky. Funny thing is..i had Derwin move in, Lopez, Frita and they were perfectly central in their spots when i plot reset...its like that was never fricken possible. I was lucky to have them. Biskit is a little wonkey in his spot but i can handle it (he is just maybe a two spots from being perfect) i might put more trees behind it make it pretty i'm not sure it looks like a house plot but its unusable in my eyes or in the games eyes (you know what i mean lol). I'm REALLY lucky with Lucky he took long but it was worth it. I like putting glowers around their homes to compliment their style or just whatever goes with their house or character really. I'm disappointed i cant do that with Merengue, that's all. I've had my town destroyed before i can always get everything back. You will get that stump back hun, if you need ad silver axe, i have a spare.

Actually...you're right and anyone else saying the same thing...all i had to do was move some black tulips out the way (and i might have to cut down a cedar tree) but her house is so pretty. I stole the pink carnation from Sprinkle's house and put them outside Merengue's then put white carnations outside Sprinkle's house.
