The only ones I can think of is "Time bomb" and Sumo wrestling.

There's always the classic hide and seek! That's a lot of fun and you can take turns hiding and seeking in one Town or each others towns. You can change the rules so that you only hide outside or only inside or only in the museum or only in Main Street.
Also, if you get the timer then it will count how many bugs and fish and underwater creatures each of you caught in the time period. So you could have a competition to see how many fish or bugs you can catch in e.g. 10 minutes!
Another idea I had, which worked well for when my friend just got the game, was to have a treasure hunt in your town. I buried about 10 items throughout my town (99k bell bags, music, furniture etc.) and challenged the other person to find them all! If they struggle, you can always give hints! If you have more than one person around then it can be a challenge to see who gets the most! They'll be competing for the buried treasure. ^-^
Or if you have enough, you could also put a lot of pitfalls throughout your town to trick people.
Or another take: clear a large area and bury something in every space there. Fill a lot of those holes with pitfalls and some with treasure. They won't have to hunt around the town but they would need to find treasure before everyone else!
