Ok, so me and my friend were looking how to play survival with each other. Vanilla minecraft, a server of our own, like they do on youtube. We tried entering wi-fi ips, seeds- how do you create a server to play on with another person?
And how do you join it? (1.8.1)
Also, is there any way we can play on my own server with out paying? Thank you, you guys are so helpful. u-u
Post below, you can suggest videos but an explanation would be better

Making a server is VERY easy. The only difficult part is port forwarding. Most people don't port forward because they simply do not want to share their IP or another reasons.

If you want to take this route, there a dedicated port forward site or Minecraft Wiki that explains how to port forward and host a server.

If you don't want to port forward, or do not want to give your IP, you could use a program like hamachi. This is the method most people use. Hamachi does all the port forwarding for you, so all You have to do is connect to your friend's server using their hamachi IP.

Uhh. I'm not the most technical person, but I know how to host game servers. xD I prefer not to use hamachi!
