Going to be the first retail game ever that is also going to be downloadable! On the 3DS at least :P

What do you think about this? Is this a good step for Nintendo to do?

There will be more games released like this too so we can expect Animal Crossing 3DS on the list!

It's sort of a step up. It makes it easier to get games. But I like owning hard copies of my games more.

ESPECIALLY when theres a limited edition game xD

I agree. I read the manuals in my free time and sometimes I learn something new.

Its easier but theres the downloading times. And while you are building up anticipation during the download you can prepare for a stress squeezer :P

I prefer getting the actual game, but this is good for people that don't live close to a video game retailer.

Well when their download service for the eShop sucks and it takes forever to download a demo, I'd rather take the time to go to the store to get the game. This would be better if you could download to the system instead of only to an SD card. Also, I'm not really excited for this game. It just looks like the same thing that they've been throwing at us gamers for the past six or seven years. Same level design, same backgrounds, etc.

I have an opinion and you do too :) So let me battle back. Just kidding.

Yeah, it is the same level design and same backgrounds but the goal of the game is to collect 1m coins. This seems pretty easy for hardcore gamers, ESPECIALLY for the fact that this game is more based on coins than the enemies.

I like the idea of downloading retail games (much like PSN and XL) because it lets the stores relax on release dates. Plus there's no line-waiting which could be spent on downloading the game at home. However I do like owning hardcopies more than software/soft copies.

TIP IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO DOWNLOAD
I have heard that the game will take up more than 3k blocks. It was a very good idea to release the 3DS XL with this game (not in a bundle I think though.) because it comes with 4GB SD card.

It is only a rumor, but the game will take up blocks (maybe even more than on a game card) so I suggest deleting 1k blocks which comes from demos, videos, trailers, apps you don't play..... The game on the eShop will probably cost the same as in store so you can say that waiting in line at the store is the time for downloading the game as well :3

I do like having hard copies as they can also be sold off again, however I recently misplaced some of my favourite DS titles and honestly I think that having the assurance you will never lose the digital copy is great, I am contemplating getting the digital version :)

I would rather have hard copies then downloaded for one I never lose them :) and they are just easier to get (for me that is) :P

I would rather have a hard copy because if you ever end up deciding to sell it, you can't sell a downloaded copy.

Keep in mind that Nintendo is offering double coins on Club Nintendo if you get the digital version.

That's the point of downloadable games.
There was a big discussion about it a while back. Pretty much some game companies are wanting to completely go digital, or make it so their games will only recognize a single console, meaning it'll only work on that one, individual console. I think it's completely stupid.

How is that any different than all your PC games being tied to your Steam account? I don't see anyone complaining there.
