I'm really hoping there are some methods for this that will actually work for me. I restarted about 3 weeks ago and have only gotten the pyramid PP suggested to me. I need more but my villagers hardly ever ping me. I've tried leaving them alone more, talking more, etc etc. I even followed a guide that says to swim out to the furthest point of the ocean for 5 minutes and return. I STILL rarely get pinged about ANYTHING let alone public projects. It's starting to drive me round the twist. My bells are piling up ready to design my town but nothing is being suggested.

Deposit all of your bells into the ABD and fill your pockets with flowers. Then head to the beach or somewhere out of sight of your villagers for 5 minutes. Walk past all of them after. They may still ping you for catchphrases but they can't ping to trade.

Have you built any PWP in your town? Sometimes starting one and leaving it with donation still needed helps.
Going to the ceremony for a PWP can get you pings for another PWP.

Hi Bubblebeam,

There are many ways so far of getting villagers to ping you both through time traveling and non-time traveling. Personally I feel the best way is to continue what you are doing which is the "timing swim suit technique." The best non-time traveling way is it buy a wet suit and swim as far as you can to the end of the sea in your town and stay there for exactly 5-6mins (I do 6 just to be safe).

99% chance a villager will ping you for this. NOTE: When you do this, put away your bells and items in a safe place, sometimes the villager will ask if you could buy an item off them or to have one of your items. Avoid this kind of ping by completing your 6min swim both itemless and moneyless! Sometimes they will ask for you to change their catchphrase, but it's all about time and patience, good luck!

The trouble is, I've tried exactly that. It seems like if you don't go back within exactly 5-6 minutes, it resets and it's like you were never away. I often forget about it and come back after 10 or so minutes. I'd leave the volume on with the timer if it weren't for damned jellyfish biting you every 3 seconds.

I'll try the other little things mentioned to see if it helps. Like I say, they rarely ping me for ANYTHING, even catchphrases.

I feel you, sometimes I get annoyed of the wait too. What I do is while the timer is on, I will usually do another task while I wait. I'll go on Twitter or watch some videos on Youtube etc. If you have an iphone/ipod etc or something, you can also use that and set the timer to 6mins. I have never encountered your situation where it would reset, make sure you have checked ALLof the villagers outside at the time. Yes the wait might suck, but it's all about patience, when you get those awesome suggestions, it will be all worth it. (--:

I personally believe that you get more suggestions once you become better friends with your villagers. Talk to them every day.

I'm in the same boat as you with my new town. I've been doing the diving trick that others have already mentioned. In the last few days, I've gotten quite a few suggestions.

Oddly I've gotten more PWP suggestions just organizing and replanting my flowers around my town... I'm sure it's random and I've tried the wetsuit/swimming thing too with varying success. Wish there was a way to control who pings me first--I feel bad trapping my Uchi villager in a patch surrounded by holes LOL

If you tried the method everyone else suggested (pocket full of flowers, no bells), then I suggest save and quitting and rebooting. You're guaranteed to get a new ping from SOMEONE when you start "fresh" and you don't have to worry about them not responding because you've been playing too long. Make sure you walk in front of every villager out-and-about in your town. This method is more labor intensive, since with the wetsuit method you could just leave your game and do something else for 6 minutes.

As for getting pwps from those pings though, it's random. Sometimes you can get one a day on consecutive days and other times it could take 2 weeks.

[edit]: I'd like to mention that it took me a year to get all the pwps. The more you get, the harder it is to complete. One of the last pwps I needed was a snooty pwp and I even moved in a second snooty to increase my chances and it still took a while. I wish you the best of luck!

Follow these steps:

-fill your pockets with 100 bells per pocket space.
-Put on a wetsuit
-Swim to the corner of your map (I usually do the bottom right)
-wait 6 minutes without moving
-go back and run in front of your villagers until one pings you

If you haven't played in a while, you'll have to talk to the villagers you haven't chatted with in a while because they won't ping you until you talk to them and they say something like "omg it's great you're back! I thought you were gone forever!" and then end the conversation.

As well, it helps me if you're friends with your villagers.

Last thing, after around an hour or so, your villagers won't ping you until you talk to them to make them say "wow you've been playing a lot! You should take a break!" and then end the conversation.

Never thought of that! I'll try that too. It becomes pretty tedious scouring the whole map for certain personality animals.

So... I take it the beach isn't good enough for the 6 minute wait thing? I just hate going in the ocean because of the jellyfish. I'd like to leave the volume on so I can set the timer and not forget.

It is not. You must go into the water to the very bottom of the map in the corner. You could always use a timer on your phone or something so you don't need to listen to the annoying sounds from the jellyfish stings. xP
