Meteor showers not guaranteed per Zodiac cycle?

So in the process of farming Celeste recipes and zodiac recipes, I decided to time-travel day by day for 80 days straight seeking Celeste and Meteor showers, because why not.

What I found is that while Celeste was common enough, meteor showers, which are virtually required to make the recipes, were not. In fact for the Leo Cycle (July 23-August 22) I did not get a single meteor shower, however found Celeste 3 times. How would one possibly craft a zodiac item on their own if no meteor shower?

I realize shooting stars randomly occur at night, but Large fragments and Zodiac fragments are the rarer ones, usually out of 30-40 stars I have no more than 5 of both combined.

Is the solution that a person without a meteor shower for a month is forced to trade or even wait an entire year (assuming no time-travel)?

Yes, unfortunately. Meteor showers are rare and random, and not at all guaranteed to show up at least once a month like you noticed.

TBH, I do think Nintendo expects it to take us literally a few years to collect all of this stuff if played naturally, no TTing.
