So I'm having my first meteor shower just now. I met celeste, got a diy for a star wand (what is that?). I've been wishing on a whole bunch of stars. I read that wishing on a bunch will cause star fragments to wash up on my beaches the next day? Am I going to get 1 star fragment per star I wished on tonight? How does this work exactly? Thanks for anyone able and willing to explain this all to me!

Yes, you’ll get 1 star fragment per star you wished on. They’ll wash up on the beach the next morning! I believe the wand can change your clothing into something else? But I’m not sure what. One of Nintendo’s showcase videos showed this but I can’t remember which one.

You get more star fragments the more you wish on, and more of a chance to get the rare ones (large star fragment, Aries star fragment currently) the more you wish on, but the number seems to plateau at a certain point. example: I wished on 47 stars last night and got 19 regular star fragments and 1 Aries fragment.
a friend wished on 227 and got 2 large star fragments, 6 Aries, and 13 regular. so the number didn't increase drastically, but the rarity of the pieces did.
but I certainly wouldn't say 1 fragment per 1 wish every single time. You should guaranteed get one fragment when you wish on any amount of stars, and around an average of 20 total seems to be the cap I've seen
side note, when you get on tomorrow morning, keep checking those beaches! they'll continue to wash up a couple of times if you wished on a lot of stars

I... might of overdone it and made 200 wishes tonight so I could get the accomplishment done for nook miles. it's good to know I'm not going to end up with 200 start fragments tomorrow honestly, that would have been too many!

Hahahaha yeah no worries you'll probably cap out around 20! I hope you get some large and Aries fragments!! I've been struggling to get a large fragment. My friend wished on around 200 stars and I think only got 2 total large fragments, they seem to be pretty rare

A tad off-topic, but... what are the wands FOR?
I have been TTing and thus have missed most meteor showers, so I'll have to go back and try them out.

It's definitely very convenient, so you dont have to run back home to change, but can store like... 7 outfits on hand, you can switch into immediately.
