Messy hair

I'm trying to get bed head on my side character and I'm having problems. I've tried not logging in as her for over a week, but during time traveling and in real time, but it won't happen. Any advice?

When I log in, Isabelle mentions I haven't been around lately and the animals have been asking about me, but then her looks normal.

Forgive the dumb question is she wearing a wig? I think the shortest time I've travel with the 3ds clock was a month and got the hair you want. Idk what the exact amount of time would be though sorry
