I started out with online help chats too! I haven't been on one for a while actually. But it really helped me when I had no one else to talk to- i think it was comfortable sharing my problems and hiding behind a computer screen and no one was judging compared to if I had talked to someone face to face, a lot of the time i see people judge me from their expressions etc
