Unoriginality that's been ripped off of other artists and marketed to teens and kids who think she's weird and thus deep.
She had the breathy soulless singing of Lana Del Rey but set to mediocrely produced trap influenced trip hop. Of all the artists who hitch themselves to the "art pop" label I feel like she's one of the most unimaginative and pandering ones.
In all honesty I can't even say I hate her because she's too mediocre to be interesting enough to hate.
Edit:
Response to the post about Halsey, she's even worse. Another generic pop star who is pandering to millenial who care more about an artists image than their art. Like, her most popular song, New Americana? That's literally pandering to millenials.

Cry Baby has to be one of my all time favorite albums. Melanie is just so creative and wonderful and just lovely. I also loved the new single she put out named 'Gingerbread Man'. I thought it was awesome. I love the hidden meanings in her songs and I JUST LOVE HER SO MUCH.
