I've never named my player after my birth name. I'm not sure I ever would, as that's not even the name I get called in person ! lol But I didn't name my player after the nickname that everyone calls me either, or any real nickname.
I said this before, but I think my online friends at the time renamed me to my player's name, and since then I've just always named video game characters that. But I don't have any real attachment to that name.
I always use my real name in video games and ACNL is no exception. I get into games more when I name the character after myself if I have the opportunity, and it feels like I'm actually in control instead of another character.
I suppose I should mention that Kimi is actually a nickname of my real name. I’ve been called Kimi all my life by friends and family instead of my full name. So I guess I technically didn’t name my mayor after me, but after my nickname.
'Kia' the name I use for my towns Vista, Chocolat and Faebi. It's actually the first three letters of my name, I use to put my real name down on my video game characters before I stopped.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don?t. If it really into a boom series or show or something else, I will name my mayor after a character that I like. Sometimes I name my mayor after names that I think are cool. Otherwise I?ll just name the mayor after myself as a default name. The first time I played I used my name, just feels right and means that you can truely become friends with your villagers.
Yes yes I do! But only with animal crossing. I use my real life nickname Candy. In other videogames I play, like mmorpg, I never use my name. I like to choose better names for my characters.
But in animal crossing I feel the character I create is really me, so I even make sure she has big brown eyes and only change the hair dye a lot, just like I do in real life!
