So since today is that day, I was wondering who is a better protester to getting our rights. Martin or Malcolm X? If you don't know who Malcolm is, Google him. In my opinion, Martin was a better protester because He didn't use violence to protest. People look at him and say, hey this guy isn't fighting people! He's just sitting there while getting beat up by the cops! Therefore people will complain about this and a couple years later, BAM! Whites and Blacks come together.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. Both did influential things for their cause, and they did it in fairly different ways, so I don't see how you can exactly compare the two.

Also, I feel like it's kind of weird to debate this on MLK day, but that might just be me.

I have a bad feeling of where this thread will take us too.

Anyway, I am more in support for Martin Luther King. I'm not explaining since it would be too controversial for this site.

I was expecting your first post to go in a whole 'nother way hah! I personally feel MLK was, because he did so peacefully and Malcom X (correct me if I'm wrong) was assassinated by his own group (clan?, I don't know?) because he wasn't being mean enough.
 
I think MLK Jr. did a fantastic job with peaceful protest. Violence would only serve to justify the negative stereotypes between the non-colored and colored in my opinion.

I love both tbh but I do like Malcolm X a bit more

And Malcom X was really harsh about the way he went about it. And he was killed because he wasn't being as harsh and mean about it as he should've (so says the teacher at my school.)

You can make a comparison in their tactics, but that is about it. They were both passionate leaders that would do whatever they had to for their cause.
