I'm recklessly Time Travelling and he still won't budge. He is my only original villager left and I haven't been talking with anyone else, maybe that's the problem. I need help please.

Some villagers are just like that. Some move out right away and others are stubborn and stay for a long time. Don't worry they will eventually ping you, you just have to be patient :)

Why are you trying to get rid of him? Are you trying to move him to another town of yours or you just want another villager in his spot or what? If it's just moving him then I might suggest getting another marshal if you're starting a new town.

I want him gone because I plan on giving him to someone. I remember in my old cycling town, Agent S has stayed for the entirety of the experience. She has met over dozens of villagers and she couldn't make herself move. I hope this won't happen to Marshal as well.

General rule of thumb when cycling out villagers is you want to talk to them once to greet them into your town and then ignore them completely until they ping you to move.

The problem here is that Marshal was once a part of the list of villagers before I started cycling. He has been befriended a lot and I talked to him loads. He's just too close of a friend (ingame) for him to want to part I guess?

Yea I'm having that same trouble with a couple of villagers I need to get held and moved over to another town of mine. It always seems like the ones you always want to move are the ones who choose to be stubborn :P

I would normally say for most other villagers that it might just be easier to buy another one or wait to get another one from someone, but in this case since it's marshal thats tough =/

You're not looking to delete that town are you? Because the only other advice I can think to give you is restarting a town and getting marshal would be easier given your circumstance but I don't think you would want to do that.

Errr...so Marshal in your cycling town now? Since you have start the friendship with him, might as well treat him like the king and do everything he said and when friendship is high enough, he will get out. Villagers are all jerk.

Yeah I really don't. I don't get why the game has to "lock" one villager to stay in a town forever. I guess I have to befriend everyone else or something :P

I KNOW

Actually, contrary to what common sense would tell you, it doesn't negatively affect the rate at which a certain villager will ping you. Infact if anything, it will INCREASE the chance of them pinging you to move. I've had this issue with my closest villager in my old town who would ping me to move literally like every 3 move outs. It's really weird how it works but actually being close friends with a vilager doesn't negatively impact them wanting to move at all.

I am seeing a common trend tho and maybe it's as you say, the game will "lock" one villager from moving while cycling.

So you're saying that I should befriend Marshal even more now? Even though he's like already the most befriended in my town? I'll see if that works :)

Have you been ignoring him completely since you started trying to move him?

Actually I've talked to him every time I see him ... which is more-or-less two weeks in-game time. I don't really start another conversation though (I just talk to him to reset the "it's been weeks!" dialogue). The rate in which I talk to other villagers is the same as well.

Ahh well I don't know what method you use for cycling, but for me since I do the "create a new character after TT a week" method I don't have to talk to anyone unless I know for sure that villager would be moving. If you do that method then I would say just completely ignore him and see if that helps. Otherwise I would say to you just talk to him a lot more (maybe 5-6 times a day) and do any favors he asks of you that will increase your friendship.

Basically what i'm saying is, go to the extreme with one or the other. Either try to be his BFF or ignore him completely.
