A recently voided villager has a chance to move into a visitor/host's town if the visitor/host has space. It's basically a "pool" of unadopted villagers. This is also where people get a lot of unwanted move-ins from streetpass and wi-fi. xD

But in this case, it's Marshal, so give it a try!

An example: A friend needed to hold ankha, she didn't have room, so I said she could void another villager she was holding for me and pick up ankha. I still managed to get punchy (the voided villager) from her, although I lost ankha in the end (no fault of anyone... Wifi problems)
