Have any of you guys heard about this? it goes in the category the Limited edition red Wii and DSi go in. I am thinking of buying it, but what do you guys think? I used to own All Stars on a cart but i sold it, along with A LOT of awesome SNES games years ago, and now i have the computer coughcoughemulatorcoughcough version, so should i get this? the history book and the soundtrack are nice things alone. I have seen it from one view, the "Why spend 30 bucks on a game i could play at any time on the computer?" and the "well, we have a lot of sonic computer games and the sonic collection on PS2, so it's worth it!" theory's. what should i do?
I got my copy on release day. It was kinda pointless since I already have the games on Virtual Console. The soundtrack is okay, I guess. It's made of one song from each game in the Super Mario franchise and the rest of it is just 8-bit sound effects.
i actually just noticed this in a flyer today, and was going to post about it. thanks for saving me the trouble, and telling me it's just a rehash.
there might be a few hidden "easter egg" style things, (most likely outside of the game) but i think that it's really just up to you whether or not it's worth it, since you already own it. if you're going to turn around in a few years (say, 5-10) and sell the wii version, i'd say not worth it. but then again, it's still up to you.
i'm not going to buy it, though i have it on an snes cart somewhere. (i know where.. just inaccessible)
it's nice they're bringing it back.. but it would be lovely if they added some update graphics (not new super mario bros-style, just snes-worthy.. 16 bit all the way, though they did do that, IIRC.) that wouldn't tamper with anything gameplay-wise.. just look fresh/new.
My decision has been made. I am going to....i am...i mean i just did, buy the game. thank you guys for the comments. i would have loved the voice actors thing too. I have been thinking, even though my bro likes and has mega man on his computer, it didn't stop him from getting wily wars collection. and the same thing goes for the sonic one, and even though we have millions of bust a move games on PC, we still got a game collection basted on it being in it. i own Mario kart gba on cart and PC, it doesn't matter. now, all i have to do is make it to Christmas..that's right. i have to GIVE it to MYSELF for CHRISTMAS!
Awww yeaaah, I'm so getting this! I never had an NES or anything, so I've never owned any of these games. I bought SMB3 on the virtual console, but all the extra swag suckered me in. :3
