Maplestory 2

This game is really fun! It doesn't have a global release yet unfortunately and is still in open beta in Korea.
I've been playing it a lot lately. There's a lot of active English players in guilds. It's super cute and a refreshing experience from maplestory 1.

I'm on mobile sadly but check out gameplay and commercials on YouTube if you can!
I love the custom made clothing people make.
What's your thoughts?

I actually want to play it with my bf when it comes to NA.
I have not played maplestory since 2007 lol, few of my friends only afk'd @ Hennessy while I leveled up so I lost interest.

Looks so cute & fun wahh @ the videos I am finding.

Maplestory 2 looks promising, but I feel it won't have as close to a vibe as the original Maplestory does. Like sliding across maps with just one or two skills. xD

Nooo not even close ;.; only the landscaping. (Probably to imitate as if it was 16 bit pixel game from maplestory 1)
The npc and other models of the game are normal 3d and very cute chibi style. And when you talk to npcs, it's voice acted, and has very nice chibi detailed art that pops up.

Everything in the game is really nice so far. User generated content and houses are my favorite stuff so far. The game is more teamwork instead of boring solo and paying for damage. Hoping Nexon doesn't mess that up

You're right - the only thing that even remotely reminds of Minecraft is the blocks that make up the landscape. I actually checked a few videos on youtube and I must say that it looks kinda neat. It's not as pretty as the first one (I'm a sucker for pixel-graphics) but I'm sure it will be good. I liked the prison. lol

I play various Aeria games before, and this looks kinda similar so I think I would enjoy this too^^
The art style is super cute anime chibi, love it, can't wait(✿◠◠)

This actually sounds like something I want to try ahah, I remember always seeing ads for Maplestory and always being too scared to play lol. Definitely keeping my eye out for the new game to come to NA, would love to give it a go and definitely going to google some of it to check it out more! I am finally able to get into these types of games haha^^

okay so i absolutely adored the original maplestory. well, not the original but like, maplestory in like 2008-ish i guess? i played so often and would spend hours simply grinding while listening to the fantastic background music. i'm really sad i can't play it anymore but maplestory 2 didn't exactly pique my interest until you just said custom clothing omg how do you do that

You use a free template of the item in Photoshop and edit it to your liking. It costs nx to upload it but it is permanent and you can make a lot of money back if you put it up for sale. (Shirts alone sell for $3-$4)
Lots of creative things like dresses that look like a shirt and mini skirt combined, tops, masks (people often use masks for custom face -eyes-) , hats, hoodies, shoes, etc. and there is also normal nx items too from Nexon. Like animated wings as a cape.
It's fun to let creativity flow. My funniest encounter is someone wearing a circular object on their head to cover their characters face. It was a texture of a monkey face lol.

I've played MS on and off since 2006 and initially I didn't like the sound of a MS2 but I'm actually really looking forward to a global/EU release.
