Sometimes I look at AC:NL blogs and they have all these neat, sometimes themed, colourful towns with fantastic houses! They have really good patterns, lots of good public works projects, and it gets me all jelly. So, how do they do it? I haven't got much PWPs, can't draw and I'm a hoarder, and even though I was planning on doing stuff once my house was all finally paid off, I don't see how I'm going to make my town memorable! So, any tips? 'Cause my town is pretty much just grass with 4 museum exhibits used for storage and a messy house. :p I'm still proud of how far I've gotten in actually paying stuff off and donating things though! (I never thought I'd get a coelacanth.. got one in first week, totally not braggin tho... :p)

Looking everywhere for best matching paths doing diving trick for pwps, that kind of stuff. It was hard to find a theme, so I just found a path I loved and that decided my theme. I worked kinda from there.

some people have this strange thing called creativity
i wish i did

That and they actually spend time planning their town to make it look nice.
I mean, you can have all the creativity in the world but if you are too lazy to actually work on making something it just goes to waste.

I have heard a few people with those "uber nice towns!" worked on them for 2months or more. Maybe not all at once, but spent several days planning, paving, moving, planting, growing, etc.
It's not an over night thing.
Baby steps... Baby steps...

i think they plan from the day they get their game, i did not think about pathways so i just got a horrible map. still regret it.

I think a lot of maps can be made to work. When I started rebuilding my town I wondered about how I would deal with some parts of my map because of how odd some things were placed (like Re-Tail being right next to a large pond). Not to mention I had already built some of the public works that can't be moved when they're done.

Even so, I started remodeling it by picking out a path, taking down some trees and replanting them, and removing public works that were in the way. I've been busy for a few weeks and it's starting to look good now, so I'm pretty happy. I'm still far from done, though.

Baby steps... Baby steps...
This is pretty much how it is.

Well you don't have to make your QR paths, you can use one that suits your liking! Include hybrids, trees and bushes, throw in some PWPs to your liking and you're on your way :p

I had to basically get rid of half of my trees and destroy most of my PWPs to get to where I am now

You make your town pretty with tears.

Just plan things out! And do it in baby steps!
I'd suggest removing all of your tree's so you have a flat landscape
Lay down your paths in places you'd naturally walk and to little areas that you have planned to put stuff in
After that it's all just landscaping, just stock up on saplings and starts beforehand!

Wait until you see a town that has all the villager houses in a perfectly straight line. Imagine the sheer amount of time it took to reset for that!

those towns make me cry idk how the thing happens, im lucky if i get them even near each other

but yes it takes creativity and not-laziness
things i dont have which is why all of my towns look like garbage

I lack creativity but I try to visit other people's towns to get inspirations. Also, work on one section of the town at a time is the key...
