Back again with another terraforming question! For the people who shaped their rivers to have curves and not 100% straight lines and 90 degrees turns, how do you do it? Please share a picture of your map if you wish!
I feel like whatever I draw on happy island designer or when I do it freely in the game, it looks wonky like it's too fat or skinny at the bends
The game makes it very hard. You need to dig at a very specific point to soften the edges, and it doesn't work every time anyway. I pretty much gave up on making my rivers look any nicer/more natural than I currently have them. Reached a point where I don't absolutely hate them, and called it a day. Lol.
I actually made a video for my boyfriend cause he was having a hard time making round edges. As you can see, it's a bit tricky but doable. What I like to do is first create a staircase like edge and then start destroying it form the points (i hope the video works best than my explanation)
If what you want is a kind of whirly effect, I suggest you make the borders of each side of the river contrasting. With this, I mean that you picture both sides of the river as puzzle pieces that might fit together but are kind of odd either in size or placing (one is too up and the other is a lil bit down for them to make click). I can provide some images in a sec if you let me find them lol.
To avoid the “square“ edges, I place the character diagonally to the square, so when you dig, it removes that half of the square and not all, making another square...
