So I built a bridge, and I put the island designer terracotta tiles up to it with a pink brick design on top. It was fine. Nohing was wrong. Here's a cap from a mini tour I did of the area like two hours ago.

The bridge is perfectly flush with the tiles+the custom design on top. Exactly how it has been all today and yesterday when I was designing it.

So I was walking through my island again later and I stopped and noticed it was different... The terracotta tiles underneath the four squares that touch the bridge were gone, and all that was left was the design on top, so it looked like this....

I was like... hmm how did that happen? Because you can literally see the grass through the design. The four island designer terracotta tiles underneath are just Gone. So I proceeded to do what anyone would do and tried to fix it.

IT'S NOT FIXABLE.

I have not discovered that if you put a custom design on the outermost edge of a bridge YOU CAN NEVER WIPE IT AWAY. EVER. You can wipe away the two in the middle of the bridge, but not the two on the edge, My attempts at fixing my bridge have left me with this bs.

THOSE TWO SPOTS CANNOT BE CHANGED. You CANNOT brush them away, you CANNOT put a different design on top of them, you CANNOT terraform the spot. I confirmed this with my other bridge where I put custom patterns on the two edge spots. I can't brush them off or ever change them without destroying the bridge. Now I have to Destroy a 228k bridge and build it all over again. I still don't know why my original tiles glitched away when that hasn't happened to my other bridge where I have island designed tiles layered with custom tiles. I'm just so upset bc I just finished this part of my island and now I have to destroy it and spend a bunch of bells to fix it.

Has anyone else experienced this? And more importantly, does anyone have a fix before I destroy my bridge???? I I'm really upset and just Annoyed with how many bugs and issues this game has...

There's a way to fix it but it costs money and time.

First, you'll need to demolish the bridge.

Second, open the island designer app, use the waterscaping tool to destroy the damaged tiles. Then, using the landscaping tool, cover the water with ground tiles.

Build the bridge again.

Sigh that's what I was fearing OTL.... RIP my ~300k between destroying and rebuilding. Thanks ;;

Kind of unrelated (I'm super sorry this happened to you though!), I think it's ridiculous to pay the full price for a bridge just to relocate it or fix errors like this. I understand some sort of fee and a wait time, but having to pay that amount for something I already own is kind of insane.

I totally agree... This isn't the first bridge/incline I've destroyed, but ever since I destroyed my first few I've been very careful. I usually mark the spots where they will go before hand (same with any building) and only place the bridge/incline project when I'm fully ready... I have no idea why my terraformed tiles disappeared but now I'm so worried about it happening again...

Think about this, and I know that 300k bells is a lot of bells: at least there is a way to fix it and bells will come back naturally to you.

I don't have a lot of bells but I can help you with some (won't be able to play for several hours, though) bells.

Oh no that's fine!!! It's so nice of you to offer, but I have more than enough bells thanks to turnips ;w; I'm just very money conscious irl and my tendencies carry over to games too OTL It's mostly just my frustration that I have to fix something that is an inherent error in the game. I'll get it fixed though and hope that it doesn't happen again :'3c

true why can't we relocate it when tom nook can basically move a complete house/establishment the NEXT day itself.

Some of my paths disappeared around some of my bridges a short while after I had built them (like everything was fine at first and then poof, no paths anymore) but it was nothing I couldn't fix.
I'm sorry this happened to you ! Good luck rebuilding that...

Yeah definitely be careful! If you had custom designs on those paths, you'd probably be in the same boat as me _( :'3
