Lying neighbor stories anyone?

I have Kody as a villager who lives straight across the river from me so we can see each others houses. I struck up a conversation with him and he suggested that I let him visit my house; I agreed and we set a meeting time of 6:30 PM.

This was the first time a villager wanted to come to my house at a specific time so I was quite confused on what to do. I get on at 6:28 and when I walk out my house I can see Kody fishing across the river by his house. I figure I can sit in front of my house and at 6:30 he will be there, and if he is not maybe I can just go over and talk to him and he will follow me back to my house.

6:30 arrives and he is still across the river fishing so I walk into my house to see if it is possibly triggered that way. To my disappointment I was alone and no knock on the door. I decided I'll go talk to him while its still 6:30 and he will be sure to follow to me to my house. I walk over to where he is fishing, press A, and he goes off on me about how I stood him up and how he waited for me in my house at 6:30.

I watched him fish while I waited for him to come to my house and he blames me... the audacity...


Have you had one of your neighbors lie to you?


P.S. At this point I believe I should have been in my house when it turned 6:30 PM since that is the only thing I did not try, just thought this story was pretty funny.

Yes! This happened about 10 times with Lucky. A few times he told me he forgot though :3, the rest he blamed on me >:c

When I set a "play date" I generally wait inside a minute or two before the time I've set. I haven't missed any that way.

It's triggered by waiting inside your house. I usually have to wait a few minutes after the set time for them to knock.

Cranston one time lied to me about where he got the fossil in his house. He said he dug it up but I actually gave it to him as a furniture request D=

I have had to wait up to 5 minutes past the time they say before...you have to be IN your house and just wait.

I just want to rant that why is it always over an hour when they want to show up?! I have forgotten plenty of times and gotten blasted...now I have to write notes to be at home at a certain time...ugh

Some villagers can be late up to 10 minutes! Just keep waiting next time.

One time Erik wanted to come over at 2pm. I waited inside my house at 1:58pm. I waited until 2:05pm and he never showed up, so I went looking for him and he said "Sorry I forgot"
Sometimes they will blow you off, but to be fair, I've missed quite a few playdates myself.
