I need to kill some time while I wait for New Leaf to be released. I was thinking about getting either Luigis Mansion or DK Returns. Plus i could use the Code for the Too Many Games Promotion...
But which one is better? Which one do you guys recommend?
That's a little hard of a decision haha. For me, Luigi's Mansion 2 was a letdown. I know DK Returns is difficult and can keep you playing for a while so if you want something long-term, go for that. Don't get me wrong, Luigi's Mansion was great, too. It all depends on what you're looking for. They're both good games.
Both games are level based and are perfect handheld titles, so it's really up to you. If it were me I'd get Luigi's Mansion just because it's something different than jumping on enemies.
Luigi's Mansion, much better experience. Although I like Donkey Kong Country Returns...I LOVE Luigi's Mansion, and surprisingly, most of my gameplay time is in the multiplayer, which is just fantastic to go in cooperatively, hunt down ghosts with randoms or buddies...it's an absolute blast
Another recommendation for Luigi's Mansion 2. I've put in about 55 hours and I still haven't fully completed the game :\
Also, I agree with CaptainTutu's opinion of the multiplayer. It's really enjoyable.
They are both quite different in terms of gameplay obviously, it you like platforming then go with DKC if you want something a bit more explorative then go with LM2, it has a great multiplayer section too. Both games are graphically very nice, the 3D on LM certainly enhances the graphics, they look very beautiful. Personally I'd go with LM2.
I personally don't recommend DKCR 3D if you have played it on the Wii unless if you want a good excuse to replay it. I think Luigis mansion would be better because it isn't the same game. Though if you haven't played DKCR it on the Wii you are missing out.
So just go with what kind of gameplay you would prefer.
You can't go wrong either way. If you've played DK Country Returns on Wii then go for Luigi's Mansion. If you haven't played it already then go for DK.
Well I've played the original Donkey Kong Country Returns on the Gameboy...
The only thing that is swaying me towards Luigi's Mansion is that the GCN version was amazing and it's not just a platformer where you jump on enemies.
However, I would rather good graphics over gameplay between these two titles...
Also I have an XL, so the resolution appears lower quality as there is a larger surface area to cover... I'm worried Luigi's Mansion won't look that great... I can't say i'm amazed at Donkey Kong's graphics either, looking at videos on Youtube.
I recommend DKCR.. Because I have no idea if Chauncey or any of the other ghosts return in the game.
Then again, Maybe not Chauncey. His cries haunt me to this day..
