Love live is a school idol contest. The main idol group we follow in the anime was called muse, consisting of:
Honoka - The leader, who actually lacks consideration upon other qualities a leader should have leading to the group almost breaking up several times. Her character development took 19 episodes.
Kotori - Seems to have a lot of money to make all the costumes for the girls.
Umi - Writes most of the lyrics. She's probably 15 but sometimes throws horrible tantrums as if she's 4.
Hanayo - Really shy.
Rin - Suffers from childhood trauma that never really got resolved from possible child neglect.
Maki - The only sane one of the series. Also is very rich. Composes music.
Nico - Crazy Idol fan. Suffers from child neglect because her parents left her to look after 3 younger siblings alone.
Ayase - Childhood trauma from not being first in a ballet performance.
Nozomi - Sexually harasses her friends. Somewhat child neglect because her parents moved her around everywhere without consideration to how they are impeding her education.

So far in Sunshine, the only crazy one is Yohane. Kanan looks like she's having her education impeded upon.
My favourite character is Nico because the others can get psychological help to deal with past trauma, but Nico might get worse.
You was my original favourite of Aqours, but Hanamaru is pretty cute so we'll have to see.
I guess the fun part of the Love Live fandom is that they get the show is a joke and are willing to make fun of it themselves. Other fandoms might not take it as well...
