I did it again just today. Saw a lost item and ignored it. Feels pretty good to pass it up when I have better things to do than run all over searching out the "loser" so I can get a shirt that I'll never wear as a reward. I suspect there's a lot of you who do this. Am I wrong?

i ignore it. i dont really want an unwanted shirt so i skip

i just keep them so the following day they become mine and can use them as decoration around the house
books are my favorite

Unfortunately, I'm forever a slave to my ingrate villagers and do almost everything for them in the desperate, slightly pathetic attempt to earn a spot in their hearts, including retrieving their useless crap. It's bad enough when they're too derpy to realize they've dropped something, but nothing makes me roll my eyes more than handing a bag to Deli just to hear him say "Oh yeah, I left that there for later lawlawlawlawl" Boi, please.

(I love my villagers, I promise. Those precious turds <3.)

I'm the same way. I just have to find whoever the lost item belongs to!

Yeah. Once I pick it up I feel obligated to find the bonehead...But, if nobody sees me not seeing it, it never got lost. Booker should be handling that duty anyway. Wait! How is it that he says he can't leave the station to return lost items yet he can patrol the beach when someone reports Gulliver? And, furthermore, he won't even let you leave an item on his shelf...why that useless sack of sh

I only bother to pick up and return the lost item when I'm in a particularly good mood. Otherwise I just roll my eyes and ignore it for the rest of the day. It's so annoying having to go through each villager to find out the dork who dropped it.

I saw some eyes rolling around my plaza. Those were YOURS?

I actually hate doing it. But I do it anyway because I like fulfilling requests and building friendship with my villagers. I'm too good to them. :v

I'm with you on that one. xD

It depends I guess. If it's the book or the bag sometimes I pick them up so I can keep them and use them myself (I like to use the book for my rooms, looks nice tossed on a table) but I almost always ignore the mittens. I rarely care about them though unless for some reason I'm in the mood to help, which is almost never lol

:v I'll pick them up and return them if I'm not feeling lazy and if I have room in my pockets. Also, some of the items are impractical for certain villager types to have lost. Like ok, Celia lost her mitten. But why does Celia have mittens anyway?

LOL you're totally right. Or a snooty villager losing their ultra stylish bag and it's like... a paper groceries bag.

It's a hassle but I tend to do the right thing and return lost items to their owners. I would feel sad if I lost something and nobody bothered to return it

Does returning lost items count toward the helping-your-villagers badge? I want to eventually get all three of those so I am also a slave to my dumb ugly neighbors. But sometimes I pick them up and forget, and then just throw them away the next day...
