I am a fan of Lord of the Rings. I would definitely like to discuss it!

I'm a fan of Aragorn (Strider) and Frodo

I'm not a super fan of Lotr, but I really enjoyed watching the movies (all the book readers out there are probably shaking their heads in disappointment lol) of both lotr and the hobbit!

I think my favourite character would be Sam, he was a steady constant throughout the trilogy and didn't falter in helping Frodo, even when Frodo was being rude to him under the ring's influence (iirc? It's been a minute, I should probably rewatch soon ToT)

On a silly note, after I first watched the movie, I kept misspeaking and calling Aragorn "Eragon" because I had just finished reading the Eragon book series, Inheritance haha

Sigh... The worst part is that I actually own a copy of both the hobbit and the silmarillion 😭 I just haven't gotten around to reading them at all, and I don't know when I will 😮💨

In the book, no one was safe from the influence of the ring. Even Sam, but the ring had so little to work with when it came to Sam that it was like 'Really, you want to cover the entire world in a garden? How am I supposed to work with that? Where's that other hobbit, give me back to him!'

Sam saw through it though and kept his wits about him. He really was the one that held the Fellowship together. If it wasn't for him, Frodo would've failed.

Okay but that reminds me so much of that one Spongebob episode where all the characters are stuck in purgatory or smth? And they are being subjected to their worst fears, and Patrick's is a doughnut. The doughnut asks Patrick what his favourite kind of doughnut is so it can change into it, but Patrick keeps switching up his choice and ends up tormenting the evil doughnut instead of the other way around 💀 I'll see if I can find the clip, if you don't know the episode I'm talking about

Yeah I remember discussing with my family after watching the movies about how Sam was literally the glue holding them all together. But for some reason when they're at the end of the movie and almost dead everyone is worried about Frodo and not Sam lol. He needs better friends

There's a reason why everyone was more worried about Frodo than Sam through. One Ring was Frodo's burden. He was tortured mentally and verbally by the Dark Lord

@lasagne_of_death That's the problem with books into movie adaptions. They leave things out. In the books they actually ask about Sam's well being as well. Still, they really did great adapting the books into a trilogy. I never really read the whole books all the way and watched the films first, but from what I've read and gathered they captured a lot of went happened.

There were things they left out, but it's for the best. Like the last book had a ton of things that happened after the ring was destroyed, the ceremony and bowing of the king to the Hobbits, and them returning. Each time one of those scenes ended and faded to black I thought the movie was over only for it to continue.

And adapting that to film it felt like it dragged on. But when the Hobbits return to the Shire they don't actually just live happily ever after, marry, and have babies. They find out the Sarumon fled and is using the Shire as his base with the rest of his orcs. So there's an whole extra part where the 4 hobbits have to rouse their people to stand up and fight. So you can see why they decided to leave this part out.

@-Blue- is right actually. In my opinion, they should have added a little more to the movies. Sam did carry the Ring for a little bit.

However, the power of the One Ring has the power to corrupt a person. I can go into a deep discussion of this actually
