I'm trying to unlock Katrina's shop on main street so I'm looking for other towns to visit to get my fortune told. uwu I'm can pay 5K to anyone who has Katrina (either in their town plaza or on main street) and is willing to let me come to their town, just to get my fortune told and then leave. It doesn't work that way, unfortunately.
You can only unlock her shop by having your fortune told 20 times in your own town.

The guide you linked says that having other people come to my town to get their fortune told wouldn't count towards unlocking her shop in my town, but according to the guide on thonky it would count towards them unlocking Katrina in their towns.

So supposedly visiting other towns to get my fortune does count towards unlocking her shop on main street, it's just having other people come visit katrina in my town that wouldn't. (Hopefully that made sense haha. I had to re-type that a few times.)​

As for as I've been told, it doesn't work. But, that's what I've read in threads and stuff.
