Well not exactly. He just let's you copy the house part you want over to your town's Nook's Homes and from there you can remodel your house.

EDIT: Um... could I come over again real quick? I didn't know you could only copy one item at a time. I tried to copy the exterior and the fence, but it only gave me the fence. Sorry! x_x
