I just finished my town after so many hours of building! It took me over a year to get it the way I want it. :D I would love to get some opinions on it, if anyone doesn't mind.

About Onyxvill: I've had it since the game was NA released 5 years ago! It's been the one town I've built and torn down over and over, instead of outright deleting my game.

Theme: Onyxvill doesn't have a theme. I just did what I felt like. I did try to make it cohesive and not a patched mess, but outside of that there's no unifying theme tying the town together.

Villagers: My villagers are Beardo, Boots, Maddie, Ellie, Lucky, Hopkins, Roscoe, Twiggy, Whitney, and Flo. Outside of Whitney and Lucky, I'm not really a fan of any other tier 1 villagers.

Patterns/QR codes: Every qr pattern in town, I made myself. I'm really happy about that because I didn't think I could do it!

My players:
Chi: that's me! My mayor character. I live in a city and her house represents that.

Twoson: My fandom character! Twoson's house is always the one I use for things/movies/games/shows/etc. that I'm a fan of! Her house right now is built to represent one of my favorite shows!(lol, see if you can figure it out)

Zellie: Her house is the snobbish part of me. lol, imagine holding your pinkie in the air for everything you do. She has the 'finer' things.

Stars: her house shows things that make me uncomfortable. Like idk, I just felt like doing it...
Fair warning, Star's house isn't meant to be a 'horror' show; it's just things that make me uncomfortable. Personally I don't think it's that bad, but if you're fairly sensitive or something, the top floor might make you a bit squeemish, so you may want to avoid it...but again personally, that's just for really reflexive sensibilities. For anyone else, it really isn't that bad. If anything, I think it's cartoonish.

So anyway, yeah! That's it! My dream address is 5A00-00C9-EDF4! let me know what you think! :)

I'll head over now and edit this post later with some thoughts.

Thoughts:

For the town itself, I like the little touches more than the larger visual works. For example: the heart of golden flowers around the Reset Center manhole (good to see some love for Resetti), the cool different tiles in front of buildings (crescent moons for males, flowers for females, stars for special places), and the special mushroom stump locations. The locations of the different benches are well thought out. They feel tranquil in their own way, though I suspect a night time experience would amplify this.

My only suggestion is to have some items available (shovel, net, etc.) for players to use when they dream. I also have a question regarding bush layout choice. Some parts feel organized in a certain way (like by specific type), but some spots are a bit random (like the southern side of the southernmost bridge) while others are not. Any reason for this?

The first house that I entered was Stars'. I'm not sure what is uncomfortable about some of the rooms for you? I don't know you, so I'm curious. The black and white themed main room and Egyptian room were cool. I actually liked the top floor; I've never seen anything like that. I thought at first, is this supposed to be a medical room? I suppose in a sense yes, but there must be something else behind it? Am I supposed to just be inside of a person? I feel like that was the idea behind it. This is a great house all around.

The second was Twoson's house. I immediately picked up the Steven Universe vibe with the portrait of his Mom on the wall. I'm not much of a Steven fan, so you did a great job by adding that to the first room if I was able to pick it up so quickly. The rest of the rooms reflect the show quite well, at least the ones that I recognize.

Next up, I visited Chi's house. I didn't feel the city room. There was a lot of repetition in item placement that I thought could be avoided, but then again it's not my vision. I like the idea though. The room to the left with the mirror effect is super cool. I haven't seen anyone do that yet. The bear party upstairs gave me a good laugh. Also, I was a bit surprised to see a laundromat and courtroom in the house, but that's not a criticism. I like both layouts, particularly the latter.

Finally, Zellie's house was pleasant, but that's what you were going for with all of those "finer" things. The only room I didn't care for was the theater. I just didn't feel it, I guess. The rest of the layout was great, particularly the relaxing spa and the back room that was modeled after a scenic country home. I spent a bit of time in the latter room—taking it in you could say.

Anyway, overall it's really good! Congrats on your difficult journey coming to a close. Now enjoy the job of maintaining it and tweaking it any way you see fit.

Thanks so much! I'm really glad you liked most of it!

I'll definitely put out all the tools when I next update. As for the bushes, at the time, I couldn't find the ones I needed, so I was grabbing what I could get as I could find them. It was ok in the winter time because everything looked the same, but with spring blooming, I'll have to redo & replace those random areas so they look better.

Ok, so the rooms in Stars house: The main room came after watching a few of the earliest episodes of The Twilight Zone. I can't remember all of them, but a lot of them really creeped me out, like the one with Talking Tina. The room on the left, the Egyptian room was from the time I saw that movie The Pyramid. It wasn't really that scary for me, but it did have a few jump scares. The back room is nuclear war. Reading about nuclear bombs and how the world is always one step away from a nuclear winter is chilling for me. The right, basement, and top rooms are personal experiences: top room-when my sis had to have invasive surgery, and I was scared out of my mind and had a horrible nightmare; right room-when my bro visited a tropical country for vacation, and got malaria(not fun watching him go through that), basement-when I nearly got swept away at high tide as a kid.

And Yay! I'm so glad you got the SU theme for Twoson's house! Thank you! :D

For Chi's house, thanks for the critique! The city room is really hard, and to be honest, I keep changing it because I'm not quite satisfied with it either, but it kept holding me back from uploading so I just went with the current version. I'll continue to tweak it little by little, and hopefully, I'll be able to get it exactly where I want it to be.

As for Zellie's house, I was thinking about changing the theater, because it's been there since the WA update. But as of right now, I'm not quite sure what to replace it with, so I left it until I could come up with another idea. I was thinking about a cafe, but that's not quite my thing...maybe a swanky parlour room?...lol, yeah, I'm still in the process of forming ideas on that one.

But yeah, thank you so much! I really appreciate the critique. :)
