Long waiting ACNH trade

I would’ve re-messaged after around 10 mins, you can’t be expected to wait around. You are unable to send gifts via mail whilst your gates are open, unable to find pascal etc it can really effect your gameplay. Thankfully there are only a handful of people like this, I’ve been in the same boat and it’s gotten to the point where I’ve basically just said (in a none rude way) that they’ve taken too long and it’s not really fair on me to wait around! Hope you don’t have to deal with anymore people like this 😭😭

Thing is, time zones are a thing and in my case are something I always need to keep in mind and can delay a lot of processes. I live in Germany, most people don't, and while I can be awake at impossible hours, most of the time I assume they're American and I have to wait a few hours for them to be ready, or stay awake to get something I want (like for a cataloguing event, 2 AM my time 😳)

But I'm also not bothered at all if it takes some, it's a little baby game and the items don't disappear, I'll just dump them in front of Bobs house and wait until I can deliver. I TT so my items are ready immediately but I wouldn't mind waiting and have waited multiple days to get something from someone who plays in real time. I'm not running a "shop" or anything so that's not something I have to consider. I also once sold a villager and specifically told them I needed to TT to put them in boxes as they weren't already, but during the process literally everyone BUT the one villager asked me to move and the whole thing ended up taking six hours, and I felt bad at the end because I was dead tired and hungry but had to keep going because I promised them I'd do it fast. Ended up staying awake the whole night not eating because I told myself I needed to finish as fast as possible, even though not once during that entire time did that person push me or infer that I was taking too long. They were actually really nice and alas, I am a clown.

Anyways, it's just a game, and there could always be an emergency taking place irl, so I don't ever fret it. I just don't care enough, and some other people clearly care even LESS, which is probably why these things happen in the first place

totally understand the timezone diff and it takes time to sync up. Getting villager ready and stuff is a huge time sink. So if you're not ready you could let them know. most ppl are pretty understanding with real life events.

Maybe 10 minutes? I was in a similar situation. Someone needed an item that I just happen to have and nobody else had replied to them. So I offered to just give it to them without any payments. Just send me the Dodo code and I'll drop it off. I waited for an hour. I got no response. I never got a response back from them, so their loss, I guess. Unless someone gave them what they wanted.

It was a villager giveaway. I clearly stated that the villager would only be on my island for a few more hours and they messaged me around 11pm just before I was about to sleep. I said ok and sent them a code and they told me they were at a party. I waited for about 3 hours for a reply and at this point I assumed the villager would be voided as it was 3am in game time. I tried to kinda hint with the guy they'd be gone, but he was adamant about going to my island. Lone behold he actually turned up, the villager was awake, and the trade was completed.

Trade began at 11:00, finished 3:00. I think been late by about an hour is fine, but several hours really is a joke. I kinda feel bad because sometimes I've took a while to reply. But it's never been more than hour, usually 30 minutes at max.
You're actually a better person than I am in this instance. If I'm giving away or selling a villager and you don't show up in a timely manner, I void them. With communication I'll give a couple of hours and typically that's so the person can empty a plot.
