Ok, it has been 2 years since I had anyone visit my town nor had the chance to catch anyone online. I'm bored and lonely, whats the point in playing ACNL if I cant share my items and show off my town to other players? For 2 years I have added tons of people so I can play with them but they never have their gates open or they just had never added me back. When I asked people if they want to add me and come visit my town they say "Yes" but that person never showed up. I'm actually pretty sad about this because I still have not gotten a chance to enjoy ACNL the way it is intended to be played.

Honestly I'd open my gates but after having my town nearly destroyed I've become VERY paranoid when it comes to opening my gates. I only really have them open for trades and VERY close friends nowadays, but I know how you feel.

Two years? Well the gates system is pretty stupid, most people forget to open them or they feel it's just too much of a hassle, but you still get the bff spots so you can msg people and tell them to open their gates or to come over.

I can drop by if you want me to :D

Edit: Added, add me and let me know when your gates are open.

I added you. My gates will be open all day long

You should be able to find people to play with if you keep trying. There are so many ACNL players out there that I'm sure there are those who're willing to play with you. You're actively seeking and asking people and it's the only thing that'll help. I really don't think it's impossible to find anyone but I understand your frustration. I'm the same in that I don't have anyone to play with but it's my own fault really. I'm almost too shy to ask anyone to spend time with me in-game. You're not like that so it's good.

I can visit if you want, but I'd just like to point out that the game can be just as fun playing it on your own if you have a majority of the house and main street upgraded. If not, make it a goal and stick to it. While you're up to that, chop off all your trees and replant them so they look more organized to your liking. Or you can put together a bunch of paths and lay them out around your town to make it more creative and fun to run or walk around. There are a lot of things you can do alone in the game to occupy yourself that's just as fun as doing something with other players. By this point, I've realized that the game actually is pretty boring if you don't set any goals for yourself. Example - start organizing your flowers around your town. Before you know it, you'll be so focused on making your town look better doing other things that you'll eventually forget about other players. If you feel like you don't have the creativity to do so, visit a few dream towns or look up town examples or screenshots off tumblr for inspiration. Honestly, the only reason as to why people come by my town nowadays is to drop off items I ordered and for trades haha. But it means easier access to supplies for making my town better. Some other goals are completing your encyclopedia, earning all badges, finishing your catalog etc. There are endless possibilities when it comes to animal crossing. Sorry if this wasn't necessary, but just some advice c:

I only open up my gates if somebody asks me to open them for them. But you can add me if you want. Just shoot me a PM if you ever want to visit/if you want me to visit

I don't play online, and I never seem to run out of things to do in town. Even if it's just laying out pattern tiles to show where I plan to plant trees and bushes, build something, or plotting where I'd like houses to go. Landscaping takes lots of time, and if no one is coming to look at it, it's okay. I'm designing for myself. Oh, yes. And going through my closet. That can take all afternoon! ;)
