I restarted my town because I wanted to create my ideal town, landscaping and all. But since I have no PWPs and there are only 5 villagers this plot resetting is driving me nuts!
What's the longest you've spent doing this and why? Will my nightmare ever end? :p

Are there any tips to making this any easier in the future?

Imo start getting your dreamies after you have 9 villagers and PWPs placed specifically to force villagers quite exactly where you want them because otherwise it's quite impossible to control exact house placements. And plan every single house placement at once, don't start getting dreamies and then think where to put the rest.

I'm mostly doing it because when I got my map, all the villagers houses happened to be on the bottom half of the river and that left a huge open top space for landscaping so this is mostly why I am doing this, I don't mind what villagers mostly just the placement (I want them all on that lower half and actually just managed to plot one down there correctly!)

Well, in that case there is not very much you can do at this point! Good luck resetting!

I know putting benches can help but im not sure how fast new villagers move in when a new town is started. So Idk how effective that would be :(

You can already do PWP? I remember them moving in quite quickly, but I think you should put the biggest available PWPs to spots that block as much room as possible for houses to set (a single PWP can do very much at edge locations).

I know how rage-inducing plot resetting can be. I've learned that if there's a spot you absolute do not want any villager to move into, just build something cheap there (for me it's the rice rack - fits right in the problem area so no villagers can plot there and it's relatively inexpensive). I got Merengue yesterday and the rice rack trick worked, and got her to move where I wanted her in just 5 tries. :)

I spent the whole of last week plotting Goldie's house because I want my dog villagers to have their houses in a row. I've never spent that long plot resetting but it's very worth it in the end! <3

Okay, I know how annoying it is having a villager spawn in a area you hate, so my question is, why go so far to plot reset THAT much? I apologize if I anger you.

I hate plot resetting; the longest I spent was two weeks for Poppy =~= I do recommend putting many PWP's in common/large areas you think houses can easily plot, and use character houses if you can for limiting the spaces a villager can move into (though make sure you still have one character available to plot reset).

Plot resetting is terrible. I'm in the middle of it now. I second having PWPs and two extra characters houses to reduce the area plots can be. With more villagers will make it easier too. Just hope the RNG God has mercy on you.

You kinda answered your own question lol.

The most I've spent is two days and that's only because I settled for the general location of where I wanted them, instead of exactly right down to those last three squares. >:[

Because they're in an area I hate... lmao
Also if I don't want them plotting so far away from everyone else or if they crush my hybrids.

I'm sorry it took so long o-o That's just crazy.

You have to be careful placing public works projects though, some people have said villagers will send them a letter saying they changed their mind about moving in. It was later discovered that it's because they had too many public works projects even though they thought they had room for villagers to plot, the villagers just didn't come at all.
I find it better to plot reset and settle than limit them too much with public works projects, risking them not moving in at all.

The longest I've ever plot resettled was around four days for Beau until I gave up and settled with an reasonable place.
That's what I do for majority of my villagers now. I have exact places where I want them to plot, but after a few hours I just let them live anywhere as long as it doesn't destroy anything too major.

Plot resetting for Chief took me two days, in the end I just put him in a decent location instead of the place I wanted him to go.

Three days of plot reset with Ankha. She never plotted where I wanted. Now with Pinky I'm in the second day. Please, kill me (?)

I've had a second town for several months and I'm -still- plot resetting the villagers I want. Two of my original villagers still live in the town so I'm pretty much stuck until they ask to leave. One of them leaves Saturday, thankfully, so it'll just be another wait before the final one leaves. I can't wait to be done plot resetting so I can finally focus on making my town look nice.

I got flurry but she was on the wrong half of my map and I had to reset with tears in my eyes :,) the things I did to get my map perfect....

I've never plot reset for so long compared to you people..wow. o.o I can't even imagine what you guys went through
