I’ve looked for a list, but can’t find one. I’d really like to know before heading over to Harv’s how much it’s going to cost to customize items.

I don’t know. It does irritate me when 1000 bell item costs 1000 bells to customize. I ran into that this week with the metal-and-wood table.
Yepp, If I remember correctly, the throne chair item (which costs 800K), costed me around 32K to customize.
It looks like this site tells you the customization cost when you search for an item:
