This game has such limited storage space, considering how many items are in the game. It seems like a lot of storage at first, but it runs out quickly.

I never even played regularly until recently, and I already used up almost all the storage space. (when you open a drawer or go to the train station, I mean that storage.)

How you you guys handle having such a shortage of space? I do realize you can expand your house, but I'm a clothes and furniture hoarder. Even though I don't even use that particular item (also, some furniture I like clashes with the overall atmosphere of my house), I still feel the need I keep it even if I don't particularly want it in my house. .__.

You can put it up in exhibitions once you've unlocked the Museum Expansion :) Alternatively, I sell/trade items that I know I can repurchase from the catalogue if I ever need it. And I hoard the stuff I can't order (unless I'm 100% sure that I won't be needing it). Good luck decluttering! :D

Exhibits in the Museum is always a great place to place stuff that you don't want in your inventory. Another way would be to create other characters and use them as inventory space. Other than that I just sell everything else I know I won't need and can buy from the catalogue.

Personally, I haven't had so much of a problem with space in my current town, known on wood. I've filled my A drawers with everything I absolutely need (and I need to get rid of some of it, anyway), and I've been using the extra space for buying turnips.

I would like to have more clothing and whatnot, but I know from experience I don't really need that much, and I don't change often, anyway.

If you really have a problem with it, and absolutely can't get rid of your stuff, maybe make a second character to use their storage, and put away the things you don't always need in their locker. If you're going to put stuff out in houses or the exhibitions, as well, it might be a good idea to wrap items that take up more than one tile, since presents only take up one tile.

i honestly just make another character to hold things until I can somehow make enough room

Getting Rid of Stuff to make More Room:

- Get two more chraracters - three total - save one for plot resetting, unless you don't care about that then you can have 4 characters
- Use the museum as extra rooms to store furniture, clothes, etc.
- expand your house and your extra characters houses to the maximum
- sell easy to order catalog items ASAP it will free up a lot of space. Stuff like furniture and clothes you can order in the morning and it will arrive at 5pm in your mailbox.

Thanks for the tips, I did manage to free quite a bit of space just by throwing out some items I didn't exactly need! I do have three characters too, I play as all of them and they aren't just "filler characters" (I would hate to put a character in existence just so they could be a space holder.)
If I like an item that doesn't quite fit my style, it goes to one of my other characters. We each have a slightly different style!

I'm very picky with the clothing I buy so I always have enough space for that. However, when it comes to furniture, saplings, flowers, items that cannot be bought in the catalog...it adds up fast for sure.

I have a friend that doesn't play anymore so I usually use his town as a dumping ground. It's kind of inconvenient, but I use it for the items in the catalog that cannot be ordered. It's stuff that I want to keep, yet don't need access to every day.

you can always add more residents and use them for storage, possibly even for extra paths if you want. another alternative is to drop them onto the beach, vacant rooms in your house or in a museum exhibit room

i sell spare reorderable furniture and clothing, i keep gardeninh stuff in my second character and i keep unorderab?es, gracie stuff and dlc in the museum and my second character's storage. i keep a few things (such as feathers) in my letters at the train station because i know i won't use them until the festival or whatever it's called so ye /:

my mayor only has a few fossils (that i'm going to have cyrus make small), some tools, some wetsuits, a few items and that's basically it. i like to keep my mayor's storage fairly empty for late night bug catching or stuff like that :>

i know that some people keep stuff on the beach but that makes your town messy (so you cant grow jacob's ladder) so i don't really do that. besides i use my beack for hybrid breeding

That's what making other character is for!
I would never let other players have my DS. Storage is the only sensible option

I think it's the worst thing about this game considering how many 'rare' items there are. I have 4 characters so that helps as I have 4 storage.
