Good morning, afternoon, and evening, fellow Bell Tree users. Today, I bring to you an important announcement regarding the trade, distribution, and sale of real world items or items that are of non-Bell Tree origin. This includes currency, games, items, anything that is not created on The Bell Tree, for The Bell Tree. This excludes trades such as art commissions, as that is a contract between you and an artist to provide a service for Bells, that can be regulated via our own systems.

In layman?s terms, do not sell or trade anything with anybody on this forum that isn?t able to be refunded or cared for by Bell Tree moderators or administrators.

We ask this politely, with the expectation that you will follow this. Of course, things happen and people do enter what we will henceforth call real item/product sales right here in our very own forum. There are reasons that we do ask you -not- to do this sort of thing, and they all boil down to losses based on unpredictability from a seller or customer. It has happened with E-shop credit, physical items, and even games lately. If you decide to enter into one of these real item/product sales, you are forfeiting any kind of safety net that the staff can provide.

We will not refund lost bells.
We will not refund for lost items.
We will not compensate you for your loss.
We will not work with you on recovering anything.
We will not respond to reports for sales.
We will not be held responsible at all for the transaction.
We are not liable for anything lost, stolen, undersold, overpriced, broken, or even perfect.

None of the staff will help you should anything happen during your sale. It is your fault at the core of it, and we have advised multiple times against entering one of these agreements for your own safety. This includes shipping an item, as that requires the exchange of physical address with your recipient. Giving out such personal information is in another violation of our rules. If you buy an item from another user, and you get something else entirely in the mail, then you are taking a risk. That is another risk that The Bell Tree Forums is NOT LIABLE for.

We ask that if you?re going to make sales, you do it on your own personal website, or through other means that are not The Bell Tree. You could get hurt, be ripped off, or a number of other things. Please, remember this. A good rule to live by is ?if it costs currency that isn?t forum currency, it?s not worth it.?

Now, since this is going to happen here or elsewhere, I highly suggest sellers to make sure they have verified the address multiple times, have good, up-to-date contact information, and please for your own sake invest in shipping insurance and tracking. Please remember you will probably be responsible for all shipping and handling costs. If you?re going to sell, do it professionally and with a good business ethic.

Just don?t do it here.

Edit: If you are found doing this, and harassing another user because of your loss, both users will most likely have further action taken against them for breaking the rules.

Edit: Illegal Transactions renamed to real item/product sales

Pretty much in a nut shell. One of the mods talked about this and if anything goes wrong, they will NOT help you out on the matter since it's your fault that you got into that mess. I forget where it was, but there was a much longer explanation on the matter.

Ah, I see, thank you. Personally that would be my concern when trading game codes, because they are essentially worth real money, so it always seemed a bit risky to me anyways.

ZR388 the mod came out with a sticky for it. Players have been burned recently with this kind of transaction. The forum says they can not prevent you from doing this but they can not fix the trade if it goes sour. lol. Ninja attack

If you aren't interested in the offer, don't post. If you think something might be against the rules, again, don't post. There is a reason we have a report button and it's in situations like this where we would rather you use it than to fall into petty arguments.

Closing, and let this be a first warning to some of you for hijacking other members threads.
