My initial goal for my island was to have one of my plots be a "cycling" plot that I'd basically use to invite a different villager to my island each week via amiibo. Lucky was the first of such visitors I invited to live in eggshell9-+, and with him being my favorite i had a hard time letting go.

Today I finally allowed him to leave. Will be replacing him with Raymond, who I plan on giving to my friend as part of his birthday present later this week. Thinking of replacing Raymond with maybe Barold or Tutu. Doesn't really matter since I'm going to be cycling a new villager through that plot every week.

Anyone else have troubles letting go of their favorites? 😭

This is the whole reason I don't have every personality yet I just get too attached to everyone :(

I guess I don't intend on letting my favorites leave but I do have a hard time letting go of many of my villagers.
Had a hard time letting go of Norma and Apple who have been with me since the start but in the end, I decided to just amiibo in the villagers I wanted more.

I had a hard time giving Tangy away, in the end I let her leave and gave her to someone who wanted her (for free) the ONLY reason I decided to let her go was because she had one of the basic houses. I will find her again ❤️

It's hard for me to let biskit go... he is very cute but I only have room for one plush lazy boy.
Same with Skye. She is adorable. Home exterior is cute. Fits my town name great... but Coco has been a fave of mine for too many years.

You are definitely not the only one! I made a dramatic post on here and on another forum about the woes of letting go of Eloise, with whom I really bonded with! It is completely natural to get sentimental over a good pal — especially with what Lucky told you after you let him go. The “I‘ll never forget you” line gets me every time. Very sad, but unfortunately the natural order of things with Animal Crossing. 😭

It sounds like you have Lucky’s amiibo card, right? In which case, if the regret gets too strong, you can always meet him again. ❤️

It's so difficult! I think the reason why I was so hesitant is because even if I scan Lucky in again, I'll have to start from 0 in terms of friendship. But I think I will really enjoy seeing some new faces. I have a lot of amiibo cards so after I cycle through a few favorites I will just start picking up cards at random to simulate having a move in that I have no control over.

I feel that on a spiritual level. I have Eloise’s card, too, but the zero friendship level and the fact they don’t remember you... Nintendo, please fix this! Thanks!!

But yeah, nothing wrong with starting fresh and seeing new faces on your island!
