So I've always been a big fan of the LEGO game series as they are both amusing and normally have really good gameplay. The comedic part of the game was also enhanced recently by the addition of actual dialogue, not to mention the game themes are some of the best things ever including Harry Potter and LOtR.

Now in June, Jurassic World is releasing with parts from every Jurassic Park movie and in September LEGO Dimensions is releasing, a amiibo/skylander esque lego game where you build the vehicles with the pieces and get the minifigures to play. If you haven't seen the trailer, go watch on the gamestop website right now! The first three characters releasing with the game are Batman, Wildstyle, and Gandalf!!

So, have you played any of the LEGO games? do you like them? and what do you think of the idea of LEGO dimensions?

They're decently fun but only with multi-player in my opinion. Single player just doesn't feel as fun to me for some reason.

Not sure how I feel about the amiibo style of the Dimensions game since LEGO are some of the most expensive toys out there. I understand why they cost so much, but if you have to spend a ton of money on LEGO toys/sets to play that game then I doubt I'll get it.

Interested to see how LEGO Jurassic Park looks on Wii U though. Might pick that one up eventually.

I have played Lego Star wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, and Batman, and they are all fun games. :)

I've always loved the Lego games since I played Lego Star Wars II, I don't think any other Lego games was quite as good as that, but I do still really enjoy playing them. I believe I've played the Star Wars Video Game, Star Wars II: Original Trilogy, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Batman, and Harry Potter Years 1-4. I do also own The Hobbit and Harry Potter Years 5-7, but I haven't got round to playing either of them yet. Also played a few when I was really old on the PC, including Loco and Creator - Racers 2 and Drome Racers on the PS2 and a couple of Bionicle games on the GBA too and Lego Island 2.

Yeah, I guess you could say I like Lego games. :P

I've been playing since LEGO Star Wars. Skipped out on Harry Potter, enjoyed LOTR and Batman 1-3 the most. They're always cute and fun, though objectively speaking none of them really warrant sixty dollars. I've already preordered Jurassic on the PS4. Dimensions is better compared to Disney Infinity, perhaps Skylanders than amiibo going by the looks of it, and as a fan of both, yeah, I'm interested in bleeding money for it.

Gameplay they've been a bit hit or miss. They just tend to feel a bit too clunky and basic. They can also be really repetitive at times. Difficulty I won't talk about since it is intended for people much younger than myself. The 'build stuff' thing was never really used that well or fitted into many of the games either outside of the Star Wars games. It existed, yea, but it felt like it was shoehorned in there 'because lego' rather than it supposed to be a part of the game.

I liked Lego Star Wars without the bias of a Star Wars fan (because I generally don't like Star Wars). Marvel Superheroes was okay, it just seemed to be lacking in my opinion, especially in the open world map that I expected more from. I thought Lego Batman was really boring. I played the Indiana Jones demo and it was okay, though not good enough for me to buy it. Pirates of the Caribbean and The Hobbit I ignored altogether since I didn't see how Lego was even relevant to those series's.

They all seem to be pretty buggy and glitchy as well, usually with framerate issues or the games freezing.

I always liked the humor in them though. The humor was partially the main reason I got through the entire Marvel game.

They're okay games. I won't go out of my way to play them but I wouldn't complain about having to play them either.

Dimensions is better compared to Disney Infinity, perhaps Skylanders than amiibo going by the looks of it

How exactly is it any better or worse than Disney Infinity or Skylanders? Amiibo maybe since they can be argued to be mostly useless but otherwise, outside of personal bias they're the exact same concept as DI and SL.

I'm personally getting a little sick of the whole 'figures to life' concept with games. I know it's only really 3 different versions of it at this point (4 if we include Lego) but it's just something I'm not entirely fond of.

I'm guilty of supporting the trend since I've bought a few Amiibo and Disney Infinity (they put Stitch in the game...I struggled to control myself) but the idea of locking all these playable characters and items behind separate paywalls is pretty disgusting and it's becoming a bit more common and acceptable than it should be.

I mean, with Disney Infinity the base game with Stitch and that chick from Brave cost me ?60, already ?20 more than the typical game. The 6 other characters and few other bits I got (lets pretend I didn't get them on discount) cost around a further ?85 (again, discounts...They cost me ?25ish). Is ?145 for one game really a good thing? Is there seriously enough content in that (or any of) these games to justify that price? No, there really isn't and the Lego game won't have enough content to justify a price higher than the usual ?40-?50 either. I say that with certainty.

I like the figures, yea. They're all good quality and it's nice to have figures of characters I like...But why not release them as a separate thing rather than cutting the game into pieces and selling it all separately? Actually, Lego already kind of does that, so why not put it all in the game by default? People complain about other games doing this but because you get a figure, it all changes...

Just release the figures as separate merchandise, I would still buy them. Hell, I did buy them, I had Vanellope long before I had the game.
- The figures would probably sell better if they weren't attached to a game potentially stopping general fans of Disney/Lego/Nintendo from picking them up just because they like the character, as well as cheap preowned versions appearing in game stores essentially stopping entirely, further increasing their profits since you pretty much have to buy them new.
- The game would probably sell better as well if you didn't need to pay excessive amounts to buy parts of the game separately...

I just honestly don't see the point at all. It's 'bad DLC' and people are fine with it...I'm part of the problem but at least I admit it's a problem.

In my opinion, LEGO games are meant to be social games. Playing them alone doesn't really cut it much for me. We have five LEGO games for PC, and two for Xbox 360. But something has always seemed to take their place, whether it be Speedrunners, Mario Party or Rayman Legends. I want to complete each game sometime with my brother, especially LOTR. The one we've played the most of is Marvel. That game is awesome, and it's fun to fly around and goof off. The reason I think we fell away is we both were too easily offended. I'd want to do certain things, and was upset that I often had to compromise or just "get along". I never felt we made a great amount of progress. I hope we can go back and play those games sometimes and just enjoy the games for what they are, and make the most of them.

I've only played Harry Potter 1-4 and 5-7 on my Mac, but I absolutely love them. I don't hear about them much, but it's probably because it's an older title. I love that there's so much to explore that probably wouldn't appear in other video games - little things from the books that were actually included in detail and that look amazing. I honestly forget that the characters are legos because the world feels like it was taken straight out of the movies.

I have only played Lego Star Wars. I really enjoyed it. I really like how they added some comedic scenes there rather than just fully replicating the film series.
