Now, this is just fantastic.
Eric Ruth of PixelForce, have created a "de-make" of Valve's Left 4 Dead and it's in glorious 8-bit. It features all the campaigns from the original game, including 8-bit special infected.
And it has 2 player co-op to play through.

Now, before someone starts complaining, Valve is apparently aware of the project and finds the concept "hilarious."

Ruth reveals that he plans to release the full game as a free download in early January 2010 for PC.

Also, for those more interested, here's a little video of it's gameplay.

Looks rubbish :O

How is this appealing, it looks like it's a 10year old arcade game?

I find many things appealing, but those aren't for the here or now.
I think the game is interesting due to playing L4D for hours on end. And seeing it turned into an 8-bit wonder is amazing.
If you read into the description in the gameplay video, tells you alot more than I can.

Ok, now I understand it was meant to look like that, it does look quite addicting.

What does turning it into 8bit mean-making the download fast or something? Sorry, I have know idea :P

It is like Gang Garrison, a de made version of Team Fortress 2, but with L4D.

Well my comp won't load the vid, I usually don't like pixel games or whatever you call them. (too lazy to read the topic)

I've played it.

It's difficult, the controls are shaky, and I'd prefer being with all 4 people then all alone when Boomers are shooting vomit at me :(

Obviously the original L4D is better.
Once again this is just a homage to the game, never trying to be better, just fun!

I'd like to try it but it looks to easy for even Normal. The zombies don't even seem to run that fast like they do in the actual L4D.
